December 1st

Riley's POV

My life after The Next Step has been pretty good. I live with James, and although we're not married or even engaged, I'm still happy. I have James and that's all that matters.

On December 1st, I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen of the house me and James live in. I make coffee and prepare breakfast for me and James.

A pair of arms wrap around me from behind, leaning closer and kissing my cheek.

"Morning baby." James yawns, still sounding tired.

"Morning." I reply.

"Did you go in the living room yet?" He asks.

"No, why?" I ask, suddenly feeling nervous. After all, it is James.

"Go in and look." He replies. I give him a puzzled and go in. Sitting on the table was several carefully wrapped gifts, neatly arranged into a pile. Each one had a number, starting from one and going up to twenty five.

"What's all this?" I ask.

"Ever hear of an advent calendar?" James says.

"Yeah." I reply, thinking back to the chocolate calendars of my childhood and opening one every day leading up to Christmas.

"Well, I made up one for you." He tells me.

"Aw, thanks." I say, kissing his cheek.

"Go ahead, open the first one." He says. I select the box with the number on written on it in sharpie and slowly begin unwrapping it. Underneath the wrapping paper was a jewelry box. I open up the box, revealing a Pandora charm bracelet without the charms.

"Thank you!" I exclaim, giving James a peck on the lips. I had been wanting one for awhile, I just didn't think that James knew.

"Glad you like it." He replies, returning the kiss.

December 2nd

"Aren't you going to open your gift?" James asks as we eat our breakfast together.

"Hold on." I say, shoving in my last bit of food. I cleaned up and we went to the living room.

"Here." James says, handing me a present with a number two. I flash him a smile as I open the present, open the box, and take out the Interlocking Love charm.

"How sweet." I say, slipping off my bracelet and putting the charm on. I give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

December 3rd

James had to leave early for work this morning, so I was left to open my gift alone today.

I took the third present from the pile and opened it. I took out the In My Heart charm. I smile warmly, admiring the charm before I put it on my bracelet.

December 4th

Again, James had to leave early this morning.

"I'll see you later." He says, giving me a kiss on the lips.

"Alright. I love you." I say as he walks out the door.

"I love you too." He calls out. "And don't forget about your gift!"

I giggle as I walk back into the house and to the living room where my fourth gift awaits me. I unwrap the gift and take out the Surrounded By Love charm.

December 5th

"I want to see you open your gift today, so open it up now." James says.

"Alright, alright." I giggle. I take his hand and we walk into the living room together. James takes the box marked number four and hands it to me.

"Open it!" He says excitedly. I let a girlish little giggle and open it. It wasn't a charm, but instead a pair of earrings.

"They're beautiful!" I exclaim.

"Just like you." James says. I roll my eyes, still smiling.

"Your such a flirt." I mutter.

"And you love me anyways." He says with a smirk.

"Yes I do." I reply, leaning over to give him a kiss.

December 6th

Today me and James picked out our tree and brought it home to decorate. I still haven't opened today's gift though because I insisted on waiting until after the tree was finished.

"Are you going to open it yet?" James whines.

"Just wait, and why are you so eager? It's me who gets the gift!" I giggle.

"I know, but I love seeing the look on your face when you open it." He explains. I blush a little as I put the last ornament on the tree. I turn around, where James is already holding the gift.

"Really James?" I sigh, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Sure am." He replies. I laugh lightly, and sit next to him. He hands me the gift and puts an arm around me as I open it. I pull out a silver chain with a little heart pendant. My mouth drops.

"See, that's the face I was looking for." James chuckles, kissing my temple.

December 24th

I feel James shake me awake. My eyes open and I'm blinded by the light. I rub them tiredly.

"What?" I ask, sounding annoyed. He smiles, and takes them twenty fourth gift out from behind his back and hands it to me.

"Did you have to wake me up though?" I sigh.

"Yes, now open it." He replies, climbing back into the bed with me. Underneath the wrapping and in the little box was a little charm.

"Do you know what that charms called?" He asks. I shake my head as I continue to look at it.

"It's called 'The Love Of My Life' charm." James explains. I smoke down at the charm and look up at James.

"Your the love of my life." He says.

"And you're mine." I reply.

December 25th

The last few weeks of December have been amazing with James and his gifts. Each and every one was beautiful, and I couldn't ask for anything better. But today was Christmas.

I rolled over in bed to face James.

"Merry Christmas." I whispers.

"Merry Christmas baby." He whispers back, kissing my nose.

"Do want to stay here for a little bit or-"

"No I want you to open your gifts!" He exclaims, hopping out of bed. I giggle.

"Alright, alright! Let's go!" We race down the stairs like little children and to the living room.

We take turns open all the gifts, until all was left was the gift from my advent calendar. James handed it to me.

"The last one." I say.

"Just open it." He says anxiously. I giggle and unwrap it. I open up the little box. But it was empty.

"James there's no-" I pause when I turn around where he was kneeling on one knee, a ring in his hands.

"Oh my God." I gasp.

"Riley, I know I drive you insane. And I know I hurt you before, but I vow that I'll never hurt you again. You could do so much better than me, but I'm thankful that you decided to stick with me anyway. " He pauses for a moment as I wipe away a tear and giggle. "But I love you. Your my entire world and all I ever think about. I love you so, so, so much."

I was almost in waterworks now as tears steamed down my face. He smiles warmly at me.

"Riley, will you marry me?" He asks. It just took those five little words for me to jump at him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Yes! Yes! A million times yes James!" I squeal. He chuckles, and we look at each other in the eyes.

"I love you." I say.

"I love you too." He says before we kiss under the mistletoe hanging above us.
