He had done enough damage? What did that mean?
He turned around and saw how Mew turned around to face Mild, how he buried his face in Mild's neck and cried for help.
He had caused this?
Gulf did not have a good time after that incident. He kept on wondering what was happening. Why had Mew's friend said what he said.
He was having a headache by the time he went back home. He remembered the conversation he was supposed to finish with his fiancé the moment he stepped in the house.
He was stunned when he came home to find flowers, different cloths of different colour and different wedding related items on the couch. He didn't have the strength to argue but Eyie was going too far.
"hey babe are you back?"
"mhm" was Gulf's response. "what's all this?"
"ooh flower samples and colour theme samples for our wedding. I told you it'll be in three weeks. I booked our wedding venue and we are having a family meeting during the weekend, your parents and mine will be there. Also, I called your..."
"excuse me," Gulf raised his eyebrows in disbelief, "who is coming where?"
"ooh basically your family and mine are coming here," she replied with a straight smile.
"Eyie sit down," he could not gather all his thoughts when she was moving around.
"we talked about this; you can't just do things all by yourself. Moving in with me without telling me beforehand was somewhat understandable but this time you've gone far. If I am going to be getting married with you then I need to plan things as well. And you know my parents are old, you can't just call them as you wish without discussing with me first. There are other people in the world it doesn't revolve around you Eyie. I have work too and other things to worry about." He needed to vent.
"so are you saying you don't want to get married? Is that it?"
"Eyie you're not getting the point here."
"so what's the point then? Am I not helping you by doing all this by myself? Some other men would be glad to have their girlfriend do this for them. What's wrong with you? As for your parents it's not as if they walking here sweetie, I'll be sending them a taxi so I don't see anything wrong with that." she poured out her frustrations as well.
"we talked about this though," Gulf said exasperated. "You promised you wouldn't do that anymore and now you're saying I'm in the wrong?"
"the problem is you don't appreciate me and the effort I make in this relationship. You don't give your all and I do your part then you complain."
Gulf was seriously frustrated that he started tearing up. He was tired and stressed and she was adding on to his frustrations. He couldn't be there anymore. He would say something that he would regret clouded by anger. He didn't want her to see his tears. It was disgraceful. He got up and headed for the door.
"Gulf where are you going?" she couldn't believe he was leaving amid their conversation.
He didn't answer. He put his shoes back on and left without saying anything. He left the house with a bang on the door.
He rushed to the elevator to get away from his girlfriend but then he realised that people might see him cry so he rushed to the stairs to calm down. How would he explain crying because of girlfriend problems? People would find it hilarious.
Instead of going down the stairs he went up. His head was fogged. He thought of his office building setup where he could go on the roof for some air. He only realised his mistake when he came face to face with Mew sitting on top of the stairs. Mew had been given the keys for the stairs because on the 20th floor was his penthouse. No one would get in through the stairs and he was shocked to see someone approaching him.
He just had an argument with Mild about his health getting worse because of Gulf. This time his panic attack had lasted longer than the last one. It dragged on for 15 more minutes before he fell asleep. It reminded him when he first had a panic attack right after waking up in the plane. The doctor who was with him had sedated him the whole trip. When he was recovering from the attack, he would get right into another one until the doctors decided to keep him sedated for the whole week. He was always drugged in an unfamiliar environment. He didn't have friends or anyone. He could not contact home to ask them to get him out of the place. He was vulnerable, he felt naked.
Mild telling him to start treatment just ticked him off and he left their house to go get some air. He didn't want to think about it anymore. It was a past he wanted to forget but couldn't because his past was standing right in front of him. Crying.
It was on instinct that he got up and embraced Gulf. In a second, he forgot about his worries about everything and all he could see was Gulf in tears, something that he never wanted to witness. Gulf crying meant that he was hurt. Someone hurt his Gulf.
"its ok to cry," he whispered in his ear, "just let it out," he squeezed Gulf, "I'm right here with you."
That was all it took for Gulf to really let out all his anxieties, his agony and frustrations. He hung on the back of Mew's t-shirt for balance. He soaked Mew's shoulder with tears, drool and snort. Mew just held him and comforted him.
10 minutes later when Gulf had gotten better from crying, Mew sat down on the top stair his legs wide open and Gulf sat on the stair below in between Mew's legs. He tucked his face in Mew's chest and tried to catch his breath.
"are you feeling much better?"
Gulf nodded. Mew took Gulf's face from his chest and held it in his hands.
"who hurt you this bad mhm?" he softly asked wiping Gulf wet face.
"You," Gulf said painfully looking in Mew's eyes and tears came strolling down his cheeks.
"how did I hurt you?" Mew softly questioned.
"because you're hurting, and I don't know how to help you, I don't know anything anymore and you wont tell me," he replied still looking in Mew's eyes. It felt right being in Mew's arms. He felt safe. He didn't want to leave. He remembered how it felt like being stared by Mew before. The feeling came back full force and Gulf couldn't resist leaning in to kiss Mew on the lips. They packed each other a few times and Mew deepened the kiss. He had missed this. It was the feeling he was looking for in Mild's kiss. It was this feeling.
They were disrupted by the ringing of Gulf's phone. Gulf wanted to take the phone.
"don't answer it, they can wait" Mew said pulling Gulf's face back to him. They continued kissing until the phone went quiet and started ringing again.
"I have to answer, its the ringing tone of my fiancé," Mew let go completely at fiancé.
"oh.... your fiancé?"
