'Kill them! Kill them now! Don't hesitate! Don't die! Kill everything, kill them all! Die! Die! Die!'
His vision clouded red with seething rage. Another snap of ivory jaws just narrowly missed his red fins. His mind chanted the same words over and over, until he housed nothing but lust for destruction.
The massive creature of dark red scales and golden eyes snaked his head beneath his opponent's reflective white belly, using all his might to shove his opponent straight into the colosseum walls. The crowd around them cheered with vigor, throwing food or trash at the titans as they neared.
The white dragon, though much bulkier and longer than the red, was tossed effortlessly into the wall. It roared its frustration to the sky, clawing at anything it could reach. Its cool, icy breath could do nothing but paint the colosseum wall with frost.
Finally its flailing yellow talon made contact with the ruby scales of its foe. However, the skin on the titan of red hardened to an incredibly durable crystal, cracking the white dragon's claws and drawing from it another furious scream.
The crimson titan had fought many battles, each with only a single foolproof plan- kill his opponent as fast as he could, no mercy given. Remembering this, his hardened skin began to creak like an old wooden door. His muscles emitted hot steam through the cracks of his skin as he crouched, eyes dilating, ready to pounce. Just when his enemy turned to face him, he lunged, locking his jaws around its throat.
They wrestled and fought in the dirt until the dragon of ivory began to slow. Just when all believed the battle to be over, a white tail slithered from beneath the turmoil, bashing the crystals above its enemy's eye.
Blood oozed into his vision, making it even more difficult to see, but he kept his jaw locked as the relentless bashing continued. He only let go to cry out at the horrible freezing sensation rippling down his back. From the white beast's mouth came a merciless frosty breath, trapping his backside and wings in a tower of ice. As he struggled to free himself from the sheer burning, his prey fled to catch its breath.
The red one roared and thrashed, hesitating when the enemy whirled to face him. A cold breath misted the battlefield, as ice grew over the gaping wound in its neck. As soon as the bleeding had stopped, it charged him, using its horns to break through the crystallization on his face. Each blow was like throwing his head at a concrete wall.
His anger spiked and the fear of death rose to his throat like bile. Fear, like a drug, fueled his remaining strength to break free of the ice and meet it head-on. The loud clack of horns shook the entire colosseum, hyping the crowd to their feet with excitement.
Reaching the peak of its endurance, the enemy climbed atop of the red, reeling back for a finishing bite- but blood red jaws lashed out in the blink of an eye. His teeth met its neck again and his body leapt off the ground, digging itself into its torso. His hardened tail swung down like a mace on his opponent's back.
Shrill cries for mercy deafened him as he dragged his prey to the ground, it being unable to breath or hold the weight of its opponent. As if it weren't enough, the red's throat suddenly alit with amber flames, and the white cried out even louder. Slowly, in the most agonizingly cruel way, it suffocated to the ground. Even after laying limp victor refused to release its hold.
As the blood pumping in his ears died down, the sounds of the crowd rose up. Not to his surprise, the screams were all but friendly. Cries of resentment and anger were a common thing to hear for the past three months, only fueling his desire to kill every living soul around him.
Upon a pedestal at the highest point of the stone structure, Master appeared with his hands raised to the people.
"Do you see now? Your greatest beast has fallen at the hands of my own! Behind the eyes of my dragon is the soul of a mindless killer, with the power to turn an entire kingdom to ash in a matter of moments!" The crowd continued to boo and shout profanities. This was usually how the story went- Master would trick a small kingdom into a duel of dragons, only if they had one, and the winner would announce their desired trophy at the end of the match. Master's was always the same, and it always ended the same.
It always ended with the entire kingdom being slain.
"Submit yourselves to me, and we shall bring a greater, more powerful reign over all of All Might's Empire." Master clenched his fists, looking over to the Duke and Duchess of the realm. The Duchess, hiding behind her disheveled silver hair, looked distraught over the loss of her dragon- while the Duke, surrounded by his angry amber flame magic, threw a fist into his throne. Their three teenage children sat beside them, looking conflicted and worried.
"What outrageous demands! I would rather die than bow to the likes of you! Had I known you had this species of dragon, I'd have never agreed!" He roared, only making Master's smile grow.
"Death is also an option. I wasn't planning on you submitting to me anyway, your beliefs are much too...old fashioned." Master raised his hand. Beside him a servant with a large copper bell raised his stick, and at Master's command, beat on the bell rhythmically. It was a disturbingly low echo that rang across the entire colosseum.
At the sound, the dragon's eyes dilated, new anger and instinct taking over. His throat grew red with heat, embers dripping from its bloodied teeth.
'KILL! KILL! KILL!' The beast's mind chanted as from his mouth he released a blazing hell upon the people. They screamed in agony, writhing in the flames, falling to their deaths over the colosseum walls. Unsatisfied, the behemoth leapt onto the stands, landing straight into the chaotic scrambling- crushing, tearing, and mutilating anyone near. They had no chance to survive, many choosing a quicker death over the edge of the walls.
"NO! All for One, stop this madness at once!" The Duke used his magic to propel himself at the foe, but Master avoided him effortlessly.
"You brought this upon yourself, Endeavor. I don't come to speak of peaceful exchanges. I make my claim, and if denied only once, your chances are spent. Once the bell tolls, there's no stopping the beast from hunting down its prey."
Master laughed as Endeavor looked back in horror, at the beast destroying the colosseum bit by bit, raining debris on all the innocent trying to escape. His heart pitted in his stomach when the beast caught sight of the Duchess on the throne's pedestal, clinging to their children with tears streaming down her face.
The sweet sound of screaming made the dragon only want more. He wanted to crush the humans, make them feel hopeless and puny, just as they did to him. Few humans were in the colosseum anymore, making him only more frustrated, until he caught sight of a woman standing bravely in front of three other humans. Perfect.
He leapt across the gap, over the dead dragon corpse, landing roughly on the other side. He climbed the seats to reach the podium where they stood, drooling at the delicious fear in their eyes.
He was unprepared for a shower of ice from the brave young boy with the bicolored hair and scar over his eye, but it hardly phased him. It was just what he wanted- to see the determination in their eyes, only to be snuffed out by the mere flick of a claw.
"Todoroki, stop!" The woman cried as the beast opened its jaws, revealing the inferno brewing in the back of its throat. The teen's eyes widened, his heart leaping out of his chest, but he remained firmly planted with both arms ready to fight. It was a valiant effort, but useless in the end.
'DIE!' The dragon unleashed his flames into the small throne room. The pleasure he got from killing this cruel and horrible species was like ecstasy, he could never get enough of it.
He pulled back after deeming it good, though he didn't realize until now the lack of screams as death usually took its claim. He sniffed the burning room, unable to see or smell any bodies. Had he burnt them so badly they went straight to ash?
Though curious, his hunger for destruction won over, and he lost the will to care. His eyes went back to Master, who watched him with the grin he hated most in this world.
'That smile. I hate that smile. I will end that smile!' Digging his claws angrily into the stone, he unfolded his wings, propelling himself to where Master stood. His smile remained even as a different sound of the bell rung out, forcing the titan to an unwilling halt. His pupils went thin as he listened intently for orders.
"The city is that way, Riot. Your next meal is waiting for you."
A guttural growl emitted from the monster's throat. His pupils dilated as the bell rang the low sound again, and with his new objective drilled into his head, Riot turned towards the city.
'Food. I must eat. Kill them. Eat them. Let no one live. I must live. I must eat.'
