"Kirishima!"
"Kirishima!"
"Kirishima!"
Hoards of townspeople applauded with glee when the hybrid walked by. As many armored knights flood the street to arrest the silver hybrid, Kirishima followed behind All Might, as he knelt down and passed Uraraka to a doctor.
"Don't worry one bit, All Might. She will be raised back to full health in no time. In fact she'll probably do all the healing herself when she wakes!" The short old woman waved her cane as an assistant carried Uraraka into the moss-covered hospital.
"I know I can always trust in you, miss Chiyo! Always let me know if you need anything!" He got back to his feet with a cordial thumbs up.
Kirishima's heart softened towards the King. His warped way of thinking always made him believe Master to be kind and empathetic, but now, as he admired the King from afar, he understood better what real, genuine kindness was. All Might protected his people and kept good relationships with them. If he were to ask, he was confident the King would know each and every one of the villager's names.
A shadow cast over him again, and he peered into his strong, gentle eyes.
"Young Kirishima, by any chance were you brought to One For All by my recent request for strength?"
Kirishima had no idea what he was talking about. He fidgeted nervously. He had a knack for making him feel both inferior and on top of the world.
"Um...I actually...Uraraka brought me..." He scratched his cheek as the royal hummed.
"Ah, is she taking on an apprentice already? Or...you both look around the same age, are you perhaps..?" He winked and his smile grew a little wider.
The hybrid furrowed his brows. What did he mean by that? Why were humans so subtle with their speech?
All Might threw his head back, laughing boisterously. "I'll have to have a chat with Young Uraraka later!! Anyway, the reason I ask is because you are exceptionally strong! If by any chance you-"
"Hey, shitty-hair!" The King was cut off when a loud pop happened right by Kirishima's ear. He reflexively hardened as a hand aggressively grabbed his scarf. "You got some nerve picking fights with a dragon right in front of me! How about you fuck off before I kill you!!"
"Wha-?!" Kirishima struggled against the hold. He looked up at the rigorous crimsons of the spiky haired blonde from earlier.
"Prince Bakugo, that is no way to approach someone nicely!" A tall knight in a set of silver armor rushed to the scene, waving his arm.
"Fuck off! And stop following me!"
"My orders are clear and straight forward! I shall accompany you until you leave the kingdom for your-!"
"GO DIE!"
"HAHAHA!! The ambitions of the young people never cease to amaze me!" All Might swiped his hands between the three of them, directing all their attention to himself. "I admire your enthusiasm, young Bakugo! Do you wish for young Kirishima to participate in what you have planned for today?"
"Like hell I'd want-"
"OOOH YES!" The girl with the pink skin suddenly interrupted the prince, bouncing to Kirishima's side. "Please, please, pleeaaase join! I need a good challenge!"
The hybrid cocked his head. The crowds seemed to agree with the girl, cheering for him to join something. What were they talking about? What was he joining?
"Perfect!! Young Bakugo would be honored if you participated!" All Might's hand slapped down on Bakugo's head, ruffling his already messy hair.
"GO TO HELL!"
The king happily ignored him. "We hope to see you at the colosseum this afternoon, young Kirishima! You'd best rest up and prepare for an unforgettable experience!" Then the King released Bakugo and faced the people, announcing for all to hear, "WE HOPE TO SEE ALL OF YOU AT THE TOURNAMENT THIS AFTERNOON!" Leaving it at that, he launched himself into the sky back towards the castle.
Kirishima watched him leave, but was yanked back to Bakugo when he grabbed ahold of his scarf again.
"You'd better forfeit at round one, asshole. No way in hell you'd be of any use to me." He shoved the hybrid's shoulder with his own as he stomped up the street. The kind knight bowed apologetically then jogged after him.
Kirishima just stood there, surrounded by strangers.
          "...Huh?"
