Chapter 7: Fragile

Sophia POV

I love him.

I do.

But does he love me?

Are Chase and Jack right?

Has Chase been right this whole time?

There's that phone call.

There's all those comments.

There's his comment.

And then, there's that phone call.

Then suddenly I see Chase get angry at something and start yelling.

"All you want us fame. You don't give a fuck about her! You aren't jealous! You just don't want her to leave your sorry ass. You know you're nothing without her. You're using her! And then you go and make her feel guilty for seeing us!"

"So? She's my girlfriend. See Chase, something you learn when you're a big boy is that if a girl likes you enough you can do whatever you want." My face falls and I start to feel tears well up in my eyes when I realize who Chase is yelling at. Mason. They have my phone and they're yelling at my... boyfriend? Suddenly Thomas slams his fist on the table and throws his hands up in the air, walking away and through the living room. He just yells back, "Fuck you Mason!" And storms into his room.

I see Alex and James both sit into chairs shaking their heads, while Chase and Jack look livid. I've never seen them like this. It's scary. Jack finally speaks up, "You don't get to jerk Sophia around like this. She needs to help her career, not yours. You're killing her mental health man, do you not even care?!"

"Why would I? She's fine. Except for the ego and attitude she's starting to have. I can't even believe she goes over there with you people. She's probably just using you guys you know that right?"

I start to cry as he says that. I have been a horrible girlfriend. I've been a horrible friend too. I shouldn't be here.

I turn and run down the stairs, running around the house to get away. I realize I don't even have a phone to call an uber. They have my phone. I guess I'm walking.

I think I realistically somewhere know that Mason was a jerk on that call. I know I'm an idiot. But we're in love, so I'm sure he just wanted to make the boys mad or something...

right?

I don't even know anymore. I don't even know where my legs are taking me. I'm just crying. I don't know who is mad at me or what I've done  or...

My head just hurts and I can feel the tears running down my face. I know I have fans, and there's Tiktok room, and there are so many people on the streets but I don't even care. I stop in front of a house and look up. It's the Sway House. I kinda stand there for a minute, looking up at the house before the door swings open.

"Sophia! What are you doing?!" Nessa runs over to me. Nessa is short, but she still has like three inches on me. She wraps her arms around me, and as I feel her squeeze me in a hug, I break down.

I'm so stupid.

This is the difference.

When Chase hugs me, when Charli, Kouvr, Mia, Alex, Thomas, Larray, or Addison hugs me, I feel so loved.

When Jack hugs me or when he picked me up earlier.

Right now hugging Nessa.

They love me.

Mason, he only hugs me after we do a video or if I haven't talked to him in a while. Mason doesn't...

Mason doesn't love me...

Tears fall to my face, and I suddenly feel as if everything is numbed out. Almost as if it's in the distance I hear running footsteps and two strong arms pulling Nessa and I up. She keeps me huddled to her even as my eyes stare into the ground, my arms completely limp. I feel someone pull me away from her and suddenly I'm pulled up into Jaden's arms bridal style.

No one else speaks as he walks inside carrying me. I look back and see Josh and Nessa following us back inside while when I look towards the door I see Bryce.

"Soph, what did he do?" I just shake my head pushing it into Jay's shoulder. If Mason saw me right now...

But I don't care.

I don't care.

For the first time I'm not worried about what he'll say, or what he'll convince my fans of.

I just want my friends.

Chase was always right. He didn't want me, he wanted my fame.

Thomas POV

"Soph's outside, I see her through a window. She just collapsed on Nessa, Chase you need to get over here."

Chase's face falls at Josh's words, but before him or anyone else can respond, Josh hangs up. We all sit here, staring at Chase's phone, until Charli runs forward, grabbing Sophia's phone.

"Chase, Alex, Kouvr, Thomas, and Jack go to Sway. Addison, Larray, Avani, Mia, and I will go tobber apartment to get at least some of her stuff-"

"Yeah, no. She's not going back there. Get all of it. As of right now she's in Hype House." I stand up to my full height from my positions leaning over gripping a dining room chair as I interrupt Charli. She gives me a confused look, as does everyone else, before responding.

"I don't get it, you haven't even asked her yet Thomas, so how is she joining?"

"I did ask her," I'm met with more confused faces as I continue with a sigh, "Mason said no."

Chase and Jack both stand fully, both with red faces, joining me standing y'all before Jack slams his fist down on the table.

"What if Mason comes here?" Dixie walks up behind Charli, crossing her arms.

"Patty, Calvin, Paper, you, Ryland, James, Tony, and Ondreaz will be here. If he comes just... don't kill him," I finish Charli's plan, who gives me a nod, and I add the last part because of the look on Tony and Ondre's faces. They really do love their "shorty".

"Okay, I'll get the boys from their game now then" Dixie hugs Charli before walking off to probably yell at Nick and the rest of the boys for clearly caring more about their game that anything in this moment. I feel Mia's hand on my arm.

"If she's not okay after this Thomas..."

"I know" I pull Mia into a hug as Chase, Alex, Kouvr, and Jack file out of the room, towards the front door where Alex and I's cars are. I look at Addison and Charli who are standing side by side.

"You guys can take my Tesla and we'll take Alex's. Just get everything. She doesn't have that much. It's a small apartment. There are a few photos and then her clothes, which she doesn't have a ton. Just take what she needs to be comfortable I guess. We'll bring her back." The five of them nod, and we follow everyone out.

Mia is right though.

Sophia is fragile, if she can't get through this...

I don't even know.
