Dear Diary,
Shalom. Mama says I look as pretty as a rose on a summers day. She says I could be a supermodel! In America, I'm going to dye my hair bleach blonde and walk the runway. Or maybe I'll be a writer, or a Rabbi! I hear there can be girl Rabbis in America. Isn't is exciting? If there are as many opportunities as people say, and the streets really are paved with gold, I have much in store for my future in America. Mama says it's important to keep up Jewish traditions. I love Yom Kippur! I fasted for the first time last year when I turned thirteen. It was difficult, but I felt refreshed afterwards. I also like Shabbat. On Fridays and Saturdays, Aunt May doesn't tutor me in English and I don't have to study. English is very difficult compared to Polish or Hebrew. The grammar makes no sense! It must be really hard for Aunt May to teach all those kids, each at a different age and level, but she can do it. She is extremely smart. If you ask me, this family is too big.
