As soon as Melody and Alastair made it home, they were greeted by their worried parents.

"Alastair Toueful, where have you been young man?" Shalom exclaimed, hugging her son to her.

"Melody, sweetheart, are you okay?" Marcus pulled her body to his in a protective manner.

Alastair groaned before pulling away from his mother. "I'm fine mom."

"No you're not! I received a call from the principle's office telling me you got into a fight at school. Mind explaining that?" Shalom crossed her arms under her chest.

"Those stupid angels had it coming. If I hadn't beaten them to a pulp-"

"No, wait, it was my fault, he had nothing to do with it!" Melody was quick to interrupt him, guilt consuming her. "I'm the one to blame here so please don't ground him or anything-"

Shalom's laugh interrupted her. She looked up with confusion swirling in her eyes.

"Oh, no sweetheart. Grounding any of you was the last thing on my mind. These angels deserved it, I'm sure. Now tell me, what happened?"

"Well, uhm, they-"

"They were harassing her! Verbally and physically, and I wasn't going to stand by and let it happen." Alastair seethed, red once again swirling in his blues.

Marcus sucked in a deep breath and gripped his hair. "I'm going over to that school tomorrow. I'm going to make sure those kids pay for touching my daughter." He hugged Melody close to his chest and stroked her hair. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, baby, but I promise it's never going to happen again." Melody sighed in the comfort of her father's arms. She knew he always tried his best to protect her from all dangers. Especially, the odd treatment she gets for not having her wings yet. Not having your wings at the age of sixteen wasn't unheard of, but it was very uncommon. The other angels knew she was different, and they treated her as so for as long as she could remember. But today was crossing the line, and she know it had to end.

"Oh, we're going to that school alright. Mr. Martin scheduled a meeting with me when he called. Don't worry, Marcus, I'll make sure to give them a piece of my mind." Shalom cracked her knuckles then headed to the kitchen. "Now, who's hungry?"

_______________

"Come in."

Shalom entered the principle's office and took a seat in front of the old man.

"Ah, Shalom. What a pl-"

"It's Mrs. Toueful, please." She interrupted as she set her purse on the ground by her feet. "You wanted to see me regarding my son."

Mr. Martin cleared his throat. "Yes. Alastair, well, he's-"

"Is be failing any of his classes?" Shalom asked.

"No, bu-"

"Are any of the teachers having problems with his attitude?" She crossed her arms and sat back in the chair.

"No ma'am-"

"Well, I don't see what the problem is." She shrugged and got ready to leave.

"Mrs. Toueful, your son sent an angel student to a hospital!" He shuddered slightly as the image of a bloodied Oliver popped up in his head.

"Oh." Shalom sat back down on the chair. "You mean the angel who was harassing that poor girl?" She stood up and leaned against his desk. "Doesn't your school have a strict no bullying policy? I really don't like being that kind of parent, but if any harm comes to Melody by any of your pathetic students, oh Lucifer help me for any damage I cause."

Mr. Martin visibly gulped before adjusting the tie around his neck. "Y-yes ma'am. But your son, he can't keep up this violent behavior. It's intolerable by the school and by the elders. We have no choice but to report his aggressiveness to the elders if that incident ever repeats itself."

Shalom grabbed her purse and hooked it through her left arm. "You want to know what's intolerable? Ripping mates apart from each other and forbidding their relationship is intolerable. A son growing up without his father is intolerable. A demon having to live with angels and expected to act like one is intolerable! If you want to report anything to your elders, please, be my guest. Maybe then they'll realize the demon and his mother should go back to their home in hell." Shalom blinked away tears and slammed the office door behind her.

Oh Lucy, how much I miss you.
