"My father is the actual devil." Alastair mumbled while flying aimlessly in the night sky.
"Yeah." Melody whispered back, squeezing him tighter from her position on his back. "That makes you the actual devil's spawn." She smiled.
He turned his head to give her a small glare. "Too soon?" She looked at him apologetically.
She sighed after a few moments of silence. "It doesn't change anything, you know? You're still my best friend and the nice guy I've known for my entire life. Besides, your dad didn't kill us when we were trespassing, that's gotta count for something! Just because he's the devil, doesn't necessarily mean he's a bad person."
He sighed and hoisted her up on his back so that she wouldn't fall. "You're right. But it was just a big shocker. And the fact that we're mates, I've never heard of a demon having an angel mate. Isn't love between an angel and demon forbidden? With the whole enemies thing."
Melody stilled at the thought of her mate. He was hers, there was no denying that. But she was too shy to confront him about it or simply talk about it. "Yeah." Her voice trailed off. "We'll figure it out."

"And that, my friends, was Hell." Alastair smiled at the thirty or so faces staring back at him in shock.
Right before presenting, Melody pointed out that what they did was forbidden and suggested asking the teacher for an extended due date, but Alastair insisted on presenting. "What's the worst they could do? Give us detention for a week?"
"I-I-" The teacher cleared her thought. "I need to get the principal. This was not in my job description." Her voice faded as she left the classroom."
Melody looked at Alastair in worry but he snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her to his side. "Don't worry. Nothing will happen to us."

"This is absurd!" The principal slammed his fist onto his desk." Two teenagers and their parents stood on the other side of his desk. "I let him go away with beating up one of our angel students, but this-this is way out of my hand!" He yelled furiously.
"Please, just forget this ever happened! I'll pay you! Whatever you need just don't get the authorities involved!" Alastair had never seen his mother so desperate and the thought added to his guilt.
"I'm not putting myself into anymore trouble because of some reckless teenagers! I've already alerted the elders." Just then several men burst into the room and grabbed Melody and Alastair with their hands behind their backs.
"No!" Shalom screamed and was ran towards the guard holding her son but she was, too, held back as well as Marcus who tried fighting them off.
"I'm sorry ma'am but you're going to come with us. The elders asked for you."

Lucifer shifted in his throne, eager for the results yet to arrive. His leg bounced in anticipation. Could he be?
The doors to his throne room opened and in came the man he'd been waiting for. Sitting up straight, he acknowledged the man with a nod. "Did you do as I asked?"
"Yes, sire. I looked up the DNA as you requested and you were right, there were two fingerprints on the picture."
"Well?" Lucifer growled, getting impatient. "Did they match?" His heart thumped hard against his chest.
"Yes, your majesty." Lucifer's heart stopped completely. "That boy is your son."
