4 : Meeting

For the next week or so, I continuously thought of the mysterious wolf I had met in the woods. It was a unique dog. I felt a pull towards it. It seemed like I was attached to it emotionally.

Right now I was looking through all the clothes Helen had made for me. She was very good at making clothes.

Today, I had a very important meeting with a couple alphas from packs up north. They were in Canada but I would go to the arctic circle in order to get away from here.

I was getting dressed for the meeting and I heard a knock on the door. I quickly finished zipping up my dress and walked to the door. Cooper was behind it.

"Yes?" I smiled. He and I had become true brother and sister.

"Well I was wondering if you were ready yet. I'm guessing no?" I was only in a dress and I still had to do my hair and make-up.

"You would be correct. I gotta get ready. Meet you downstairs?"

"Okay. Hurry up." He closed the door for me.

I quickly did my make-up and hair. I found a blazer and some shoes to wear. This was going to be insane.

"Hello, I'm Xavier. I'm the alpha of the Black Claw pack." He reached out to shake my hand. I examined him. He had grey eyes like my fathers but his were alive unlike my fathers dead ones. He had brown hair that was messy, and to say the least, hot. He had a smirk that made him seem like a player though.

"Hi, Raina. I'm Tristain." The second guy shook my hand and smiled at me. He had blonde hair and green eyes. He was cute.

"Hello. I'm Braelyn. Nice to meet you." The last guy shook my hand and smiled. He was perfect. He had dimples, auburn hair, bright blue eyes. He was absolutely perfect.

"Nice to meet you all. There are a couple things I have to run by you guys." We sat down on the couches in the living room. "I'm a lycanthropy kid. I was skipped a generation. My father, the alpha of my old pack gave me to an omega family. I stayed with that family for five years. I ran away because I was sick of it. I found this place and Cooper took me in. I've been living here for a couple weeks now and I want to find a pack to live in. That's why I asked Cooper to bring you all here. I need to get away from my evil father."

"Why did your father give you up when you were younger?" Braelyn chimed in.

"That's an easy one, he didn't care for a kid that wouldn't inherit his alpha traits."

"That's terrible." Tristain commented.

"Why would he give someone as beautiful as you up?" Xavier smirked.

"Raina, I need to talk to you." Cooper told me sternly. He grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the room. "Why didn't you tell them that you lied about the lycanthropy thing?" He was mad.

"If they know, they will contact my dad and I'll be dead meat!" I whisper yelled.

"Raina, this is a mistake."

"No it's not. I know what I'm doing."

I heard a cough behind me. I turned around and Xavier was standing there. "Excuse me, but I need to talk to Raina." Cooper walked away and left us alone. "I know a secret of yours."

"Oh yeah? And what is that?" I turned so that my back was against the wall.

"That you aren't a lycanthropy kid." He put his hands on both sides of my head.

"C'mon. That's impossible." I laughed. I've done this before.

"Oh really? You know that grey wolf with the yellow eyes you met in the woods by a pond?" I nodded. "That was me sweetheart."

"No it wasn't. The dog was nice. He didn't attack me."

"I know that you called me a jerk dog. And you hugged me." He smiled. I could tell that he felt accomplished.

"Why do you care?" I spat. He was on my last nerve.

"Because your mate is in that room." He pointed toward the living room. "I know because one of those guys said that they were about to meet their mate. I wasn't the wolf in the meadow. I just saw that happen. Your mate is in that room and they just aren't talking. They most definitely care for you the most out of all of us though."

"So it's either Braelyn or Tristain?" I looked at the closed door.

"Yes. And I'm going to leave now because I don't want to get in the way of you and your mate. But I also know that you aren't 18 yet so you won't know which one is your mate."

"But they are both over 18-"

"So they will know, yes. Plus, your mate doesn't remember you in human form because his wolf had overtaken him when he was in wolf form so his wolf would've only been attracted to you in wolf form." He chuckled. "Isn't that confusing."

"That's perfect!" I clapped and quickly jumped a little.

"How?" He walked to the other side of the hallway.

"He won't realize that I'm not a lycanthropy kid!" I ran to the living room. Braelyn instantly looked up at me. Tristain continued talking to Cooper.

"Please tell me that you aren't joining Xavier's pack." Braelyn dropped the remote he was holding and walked over to me.

"Why not?" I smiled. He was my mate.

"Because I want you to join mine." He grabbed my hand and smiled.

"Okay. I will join yours." I smiled. I gave him a hug. He quickly hugged me back.

"Woah, woah, woah." Cooper walked over and separated us. "Don't be getting too cozy with my sister." He held Braelyn back.

Braelyn started whispering in Cooper's ear when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and Xavier was there. I quickly gave him a hug and realized he had his bag with him.

"You really are leaving, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I am. I may be a player but I still believe in mates." He quickly gave me a hug again and turned to walk out. "Bye everybody!" We all said goodbye and he left.

"So that's why you hugged her. But she doesn't know." Cooper said back to Braelyn.

"But I know she can feel it. That's why she's joining my pack." He walked around Cooper and to me. "How about you go get ready and you can meet me outside, huh?" He rubbed my arm and I felt sparks fly.

"Okay." I smiled again. I then sprinted upstairs and grabbed all my stuff. I came back down, gave Cooper a quick hug, and ran out the door.
