So yes, that lie was a mistake. And yes, I regret it. My father ended up giving me to an omega family. I'm now considered an omega heir not alpha heir.

I'm a true werewolf.

I regret it so much because now I'm the punching bag of the pack. I'm not considered to be part of it but I don't care.

I'm now seventeen. My birthday is in two months. I will find my mate that day and tell the truth or continue on with my woeful lifestyle that I've created. My heart and brain have been battling over this since my last birthday.

I think if I just do what seems right in the moment I'll be fine.

I was sitting on my cot just thinking about things, like normal, when the strangest thing happened. I felt the urge to shift. I haven't felt that urge or heard my wolf's voice since I was twelve.

Shift.

A voice whispered in my head.

Who is that?

I decided to respond.

Who do you think? I'm your wolf, idiot!

My head ached from the echo of her yell.

Now shift!

She bellowed again. She quickly gained control of my body. Soon my only clothes were ripped and laying in shreds on the ground while me and my brown furriness shook.

I heard someone stomp up the steps and barge into my room. It was Robin, the caretaker. I remember her from my first lie.

She looked shaken up but then had a look of determination plastered on her face. She dove on me and I yelped. My wolf wasn't in good enough shape to push her off. I growled and she looked into my eyes. She looked into my yellow wolf eyes and gasped. She quickly scooted into the corner with a look of fear on her face. I stood up and shook. I then glanced at her, growled, and was out the door.

I was going to find a pack who appreciates me.

I ran away. Far, far away. I couldn't stand living there. So I ran and ran.

I made it to another mansion like house in the middle of the woods. I took in the house. It was wooden like a cabin but it was still big. Huge, to be correct. I felt like I had to go in. So I did.

I trotted around back and saw there was a party going on. The boy who I assumed the party was for, perked up his ears. He lifted his nose to the air and sniffed. I scooted behind a bush. His eyes then darted all around. Then they landed on me.

He didn't scream or shout. He just walked over to me.

He surprised me by saying, "You look a little lost. Let me bring you inside and find you some clothes." I nodded my head because, I mean, he was cute.

I followed him inside and people didn't seem surprised that a rogue was in their pack house. I followed him upstairs and into an awesome room. He rummaged through the drawers and pulled out flannel pajamas and boxers.

"Go change in the bathroom." He smiled at me and nodded toward the bathroom. I grabbed the clothes and went into the bathroom. I quickly shifted and changed. The flannel shirt was too big on the shoulders so it showed one of my shoulders. I didn't care though. They were clean. I walked out. He was sitting precariously on the edge of the bed. He seemed like he was thinking. He was spaced out and staring at the wall. I stepped in front of him and he snapped out of it.

"Hi, I'm Raina. And I ran away from home." I reached my hand out. He laughed.

"Nice to meet you Raina. I'm Cooper. I ran away from home too." He shook my hand.

"I'm guessing you own this place?" I looked around at the room.

"Yes, this is my house and this is a house for rogues who are trying to get into a pack."

"That's nice. But why don't you just start a rogue pack? You'd last longer." I scoffed and sat by him on the bed.

"Never thought of that." He tapped his chin and furrowed his eye brows. "But how old are you?"

"I'm 17. Almost 18. You?"

"20."

"Already met your mate then?"

"Yeah, she died." His face was blank.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! When did that happen?"

"She died when she was born. I knew she was mate though because on my 18th birthday, my wolf took my to her grave."

"I'm sorry, Cooper." I patted his back.

"It's fine. So you can sleep here and I'll sleep on the couch in the living room."

"Okay." I scooted up onto the bed more and got under the covers. I soon fell asleep.
