I woke up in the morning to a cold bed. The bright rays of sun shined into the room and warmed my face. I turned over and Braelyn wasn't there. The sheets were tucked in, just like how Braelyn had left them before he went downstairs when he slept on the couch.
I slowly got up. Maybe it was a dream. I inwardly groaned. I didn't get to sleep in the same bed as him. How did I sleep?
I looked down and saw that a bunch of his clothes were laying above the duvet. I sniffed the room a little and it smelt like he had gotten his smell all over the room. I took a deep smell of the air again. He smelt so good.
The door started to creak open. "Hello?" I sat up and leaned against the headboard.
"Hi, Raina. I brought you some breakfast." Braelyn finally walked through the door. He was holding a tray of pancakes piled high.
"Oh. Wow." I wasn't wowing about the pancakes. I was wowing about him. He didn't have a shirt on and he looked even better then in my dream.
"My mom made them. Don't worry." He laughed a little. His smile meeting his eyes.
"Oh, right." I sighed a little. I tried taking my eyes off of him but I just couldn't.
"Earth to Raina?" Braelyn was now right in front of me and waving his hand in front of my face.
"Sorry. I was just -"
"Checking me out. As was I." He finished my sentence and chuckled lightly.
"You were checking yourself out?" I gave him a weird look.
"No! Hah, no." He smiled a little. "I was checking you out." He paused and waited for me to answer.
"Me? But there's nothing to see." I looked down at my body. I realized something. I was just laying in bed, in nothing but his red tee shirt. He had already set my tray down.
"Just eat." He grumbled a little.
"Whats wrong?" I grabbed his wrist as he spun around. I turned him back to me.
He just stood there astonished. "You... You... Werewolf strength." He sputtered out.
"I don't have werewolf strength. I just work out a lot." I covered it up. "But seriously, whats wrong?" I changed the subject as fast as I could. He couldn't find out.
"You just, uhm, sorry let me get back to my train of thought." He pulled his hand out from under my grip. "You had said that there was nothing to see. I think you're perfect and every dig you give to yourself drives me insane." He lightly ran his fingers through his already disheveled hair.
"Oh." I now felt horrible. If me just saying that there was nothing to see makes him mad, whats going to happen when I tell him that I'm a werewolf too?
"Don't feel bad, Raina. You shouldn't." He sat down on the bed beside me and wrapped his strong arms around my shoulders as he rested his chin on my head.
'Why did you have to do this to me? I'm your wolf and you are supposed to take care of me. You are blocking me from ever meeting my mate. His wolf is howling out in pain.'
'I have to. If my dad finds out that I'm a werewolf too, he'll come find me.'
I already felt horrible about lying to Braelyn and I didn't need my wolf adding to all the pain.
