The ride was honestly pretty boring. I couldn't sit next to Braelyn because the guards didn't want a rogue to hurt their alpha. I could hear a low growl rumble from his chest every time we hit a bump and the guards leg would hit mine.
I had expected it to be a long, terrible ride but it wasn't. It was short and with relatively no harm.
Once we arrived, Braelyn personally showed me around the tiny village that they had nuzzled deep into a forest. They had a pack house but also a small yet thriving area where there were houses and also mini stores. His pack was huge.
He had a house on the edge of the village. He led me to it and we were now sitting in the living room.
"Listen, Raina, I was wondering if you'd like to stay here. In my guest room of course." He looked at the ground and pulled on the hem of his sleeves.
"Sure." He looked up, shocked. I smiled at him. "I'd love to. But in the meantime, I have to explain something to you."
"Of course, anything." He instantly looked worried.
"I know we are mates. I know the mating process and I have been told what it's like to have a mate. I'm not clueless. I'm just human."
"Okay. There's actually something I'd like to say as well." He hesitated as if asking for my permission. I nodded and he continued. "I find it odd that you are a lycanthropy kid because I swear I met a wolf in the woods that was my mate but that couldn't have been you." He looked at me in confusion.
"No, it wasn't me." I lied smoothly. I had lied so many times in my life, I had became a fantastic liar. It wasn't a talent I was proud of.
"That's funny then." He chuckled lightly and dropped the subject. "I'll lead you to your room then." He smiled and showed me to the stair case.
He showed me to a room that was very bright. It had a bay window which was the source of the light. The whiteness of the walls and crisp duvet on the bed didn't help, either. I had realized that all my bags were still somewhere in the pack house.
"Two things." I turned to him as I sat on the bed. "One, when will I unpack? And two, I want to get to know you. Even the most bizarre of things, I want to know every nook and cranny of my mate." I smiled at how his eyes lit up when I said that.
"The answer to number one is whenever you'd like. I feel the same way about number two." He sat down on the bed beside me, the soft mattress dipping.
"Let's get to know each other and then we can go unpack my stuff." I smiled.
"Of course, princess." He smiled.

We ended up sitting on the bed so that my back was against the head board and his back was against the foot board. I had leaned that I would be his first and last everything. He had learned that was the same for me. Living with an omega family didn't make me appealing to guys.
I also learned his full name was Braelyn Derrek Wilson, his favorite color is a burnt orange color, and his favorite food is muffins. His birthday was also February 25.
He learned that my name is Raina May George, my favorite color is lavender, and my favorite food are blueberries. Also he learned that my birthday is June 8th.
He had left after we had talked for awhile to get chips. He came back with salt and vinegar chips and I dove in. We are now currently finishing off the bag.
"I know what flower I'm getting you for your birthday." He said as he shoved another chip into his mouth, the crumbs falling onto his chest.
"Oh yeah? What is that?" I laughed as I ate another chip as well.
"Either a lavender flower or two dozen roses."
"Well I'm allergic to lavender." I shook my head.
"Then why is it your favorite color?" He tilted his head to the side and he looked like a young pup.
"I just like it. It you really want to know what kind of flower to get me, get a single rose. That would mean the world to me."
He laughed a little."Okay, I'll remember that."
"You better mister." I laughed with him now.

It had gotten late and we had just finished getting my stuff into the closet.
I didn't want to sleep in my bed because it was dirty from all the food and I didn't want to wash them.
"Braelyn?" I leaned against his doorway in a shirt that he leant me. I loved his intoxicating smell. He was preparing his covers to get in easier. As soon as I said his name, his head shot up.
"Yes?" He walked over to me and gave me a quick hug before he released me, the cold air instantly chilling my skin.
"Can I sleep in here? I'm too lazy to wash my sheets since they got so dirty."
"Of course. I'll get some sheets ready for the couch. I bet you want to take it slow and I couldn't agree." He hurriedly grabbed sheets.
"Braelyn, I just need some sheets, I shouldn't force you out of your own room."
"It's fine. You'd be safer up here."
"Okay." I understood his point of view.
"See you in the morning!" He waved as he closed the door and clomped downstairs.
I changed into pajamas and got in bed. I tossed and turned for about an hour. I changed into one of his shirts because I thought it would help. It didn't. It took a lot of courage to go down to Braelyn.
I got out and slowly made my way down the stairs. I got to the living room and saw him sleeping on his back. He turned his head and I realized he hadn't been sleeping.
"Couldn't sleep, huh?" His voice was rough and stcratchy.
"Not even close." I shook my head. "Can you come upstairs and sleep with me?"
"In my bed or yours?" He slowly got up, pulling back the covers to reveal his sculpted chest.
"Yours." I had difficulty speaking, I couldn't take my eyes off of him.
"You know, the fact that you are sleeping in my shirt makes me feel good about myself." He placed a finger under my chin and lifted my head up.
"Uh, uhm," I stuttered. "Sorry." I looked down.
I heard him growl lightly. I looked up at him, shocked.
"What did I do?" I stood still. I felt something wet drip down my cheek. Great, I was crying in front of my mate.
"Nothing. I never want to hear you say sorry again. If you have to rant about something or if you continuously babble, never say sorry after. I want to hear what you have to say about things." His voice slowly got softer as he talked. He wiped the next tear as it slid down my cheek.
"O-okay." I sobbed. He brought me into his embrace and held me tight. His chest was warm and it comforted me. "Braelyn?" I looked up at him, my tears had already soaked his shirt.
"Yes?" He looked down at me in an endearing way.
"Why am I crying?"
"Maybe they are happy tears."
"You must be right because right now, I feel no sadness." As I spoke, I could taste the saltiness of my tears in my mouth. "Braelyn?"
"Yes?"
"Can we go to bed?" We were just standing there, him holding me tight as I sobbed.
"Of course." I felt the ground come out from under me as he picked me up. He walked up the stairs and into his room. He got to the bed and laid me down he then went to the other side of the bed and got under the covers. I turned on my side and so did he as he wrapped his arm around me and held me close, leaving me to fall asleep immediately.
