...

Ellie's eyes flew open as she sat up from the couch with a greedy gasp for air. Only to see the familiar ghost jellyfish swaying side to side as it flashed between the colors red, blue, and lavender. The dark blue walls moved like a furious ocean storm. While the sand covered tiles looked grainy and soaked.

"Ellie!!" called out a familiar voice. Making Ellie smile as she spotted Colby.

"Colby!" she yelled out joyously, running to her friend as he hugged her tightly.

"You were out for three days! What the heck happened?!" Colby questioned, worried. Ellie glanced over at the overwhelmed jellyfish.

"It's a little ghost girl. She apparently thinks the whole house is her ocean and we are the unwanted visitors." She explained. Making him confused.

"Okay? So what do we do about her?" Colby asked, while dodging a book that barely missed his head. "I mean, how do we make this all stop?"

"The basement!" She answered with no hesitation. "Something's down there and she doesn't want us to know about it ." Colby nodded. Then it got to her attention that the twins weren't anywhere to be seen. "Colby? Where's Oscar and Oliver?" She asked worriedly. The male looked down guiltily.

"It's my fault.. I ran away and left them with that thing. Now they're in a state of comatose" He put his face in his face. "It's all my fault.." he murmured.

Suddenly, the phantom jellyfish let out a wailing cry and fell to the floor, flickering similar to a light bulb that was going to burn out. Giving Ellie the time to grab Colby and run towards the kitchen. Once there, the nerdy girl turned to her friend and gripped his shoulders.

"Colby, you stay here and back me up while I go down and stop this crazy."

"WHAT?! Hell no! I'm going with you! I owe it to Oscar and Oilver." Colby argued. Ellie let out a frustrated groan.

"Fine! Just stay close!" She scolded, both sprinting through the kitchen and rounding the corner. Immediately spotting the staircase, they jumped over some steps and hurried down the rest to the same white and blue flower covered door she saw in the dream before. Proceeding to try her best to unlock the door with her hair pin. Which she managed to as a gentle click sound made her smile.

"U-uhm.. Ellie?" Colby asked with a shaky voice. "The ghost thing is here."

"What?!" Ellie exclaimed in a surprised whisper. Colby froze, tears welling up in his eyes as the fear and thoughts of the worst was to come to him. "Shh! Don't cry." She grabbed his wrist and quietly walked through the door, shutting it behind her as they made their way down the steps. Darkness was the only thing they saw. As they walked down the darkened steps, the step creaked loudly as if no one has walked on them for years.

"EH! Something touched my leg!" Colby whimpered out suddenly.

"Well, let's find a light." Ellie spoke quietly. Both of them feeling the walls in hopes of a switch. Until something tapped Ellie's forehead, making her look up and faintly spotted a chain dangling from the ceiling. "I think I found it." She said, pulling the chain. Then darkness was no more, but a horror had appeared in its place.

Everywhere, and everything was covered in black dusty soot. Some boxes were black and breaking apart into dust. While furnitures and what used to be white cloth covered items were littered with bad scorch marks. Even the walls and floor looked to have suffered from some sort of burning as they peeled away and crept with cracks. Burnt ceiling beams were broken in half and splintered. The one basement window was broken and blacked, swinging soundly as the moon glistened through it's burned glass shards. All of it loudly stated that once upon a time, the basement went up in flames and burned everything in its wake.
