Christina's POV:

I woke up this morning in Blake's bed, and I felt terrible. That'll be the last time I walk in the cold & rain with no jacket.

I checked the time and realized it was 12:45 in the afternoon.

I went to his bathroom to brush my teeth, then I trotted downstairs. I went to the kitchen, and Blake was there, feeding Ford.

"Good afternoon," Blake said. "How do you feel?"

"Emotionally, I'm fine. Physically, I feel like shit," I said, sitting at the island.

"Tia," Ford waved with a smile.

"Hi, sweetie."

"Are you hungry?" Blake asked.

I looked at him and quirked an eyebrow. "Are you gonna cook?"

"Yeah."

"In that case, no thank you," I chuckled.

"I'm getting much better in the kitchen, thank you very much," he said.

"Okay, we'll see. Maybe you could make something simple. Something you won't mess up."

"I'll make you bacon & eggs then."

Once he finished feeding Ford, he tried to cook something, and I watched him attentively. When he was done, he put my plate in front of me, and it didn't look bad.

"Try it."

I slowly started to eat and, it actually wasn't bad. He really was getting better at cooking.

"I'm proud of you," I said.

"Thank you. So what are you doing today?" he asked, putting the plate in the sink.

"I need to go burn some stuff," I said, standing up off the stool.

"Well, Brynn's gonna be here in a minute to pick him up, but I'll come over afterwards if you want."

"Awesome. I'll see you later."

I gave him a hug and he kissed my cheek. I kissed Ford's forehead, put on my shoes and walked home.

When I got in, I went straight to my bedroom and got everything that belonged to Dominic or reminded me of him. I put everything in a box, then went to the backyard.

I lit the fire pit, and the first thing I put in were his clothes. After that, I threw in his shoes and the necklace he gave me.

I watched this stuff burn for a while before I picked up the pictures of us. A tear fell on one of the pictures, so I wiped my tears and threw the pictures in the fire.

I sat in one of the chairs in front of the pit and watched the fire.

Since Blake wasn't here yet, I decided to put the fire out and go back inside to pack. I grab two suitcases and just threw clothes in. I didn't know where I was going or how long I'd be gone, but I did know I needed to get out of California for a while.

Blake's POV:

After Brynn picked up Ford, I walked to Christina's house.

"Chris?"

I walked to the backyard and saw Dominic's things in the fire pit, but she wasn't there. I went inside and into her room, but she wasn't there either. I opened her window to see if she was on the roof, but she wasn't there either.

Where the hell is she?

I called her repeatedly, but she didn't answer any of my calls. Her car was still here so I didn't understand where she'd go.

I called Nevaeh and asked her to come to the house. Maybe she knew where Chris was.

"Blake?"

"I'm up here."

She came up to Christina's room and sat on the bed. "What's up?"

"Do you know where Christina is?" I asked. "She said she was gonna burn some stuff but when I got here, she was gone."

"Maybe she went for a walk," she said. "Let's just wait for her to come back."

"Alright."

We waited around her house for five hours, but she never came home.

"Okay, now I'm starting to get worried," Neveah said, pacing the kitchen floor.

We both called her and texted her numerous times and she still hadn't responded to anything.

"I'm gonna call her mom," I said. "Maybe she talked to her."

I called her mom and on the third ring, she answered.

"Hey, Blake."

"Hi, Mrs. Jackson. Have you talked to Christina today?"

"No, why? What's going on?"

"She hasn't talked to her mom today," I said to Neveah.

"Blake, is something wrong with Christina?"

I could already hear the worry in Mrs. Jackson's voice, and I didn't wanna be the one to tell her Christina may or may not have been missing.

"Well, don't freak out, but she's been M.I.A for a couple hours, and she isn't answering our calls."

"She's missing?!?! Hold on. I'm gonna try to call her myself."

She hung up and ten minutes later, she called me back, crying, because Christina hadn't answered her calls and she was worried.

"You don't think Dominic did something to her, do you?" I asked Neveah.

"No, why would he?"

"Well I mean, they broke up yesterday. Maybe he did something to her out of spite."

"They broke up?!"

"Yeah."

"I don't think he's that crazy," she said.

"Well what are we gonna do?"

"We can't go to the police because it hasn't been long enough," Neveah said, biting her nails.

"So I guess we just wait around for her to call or come home."

"I guess so..."

We stayed at her house that night, waiting & praying she would come home.
