Ch. 2
Leo's POV.
Light was just peeking through the shutters on the window; really just natural light. I stood in the doorframe invisible for all Alex knew. I watched as she fluttered her eyes open. The morning light had revealed the monster. Red eyes surveyed the room through a mess of tangled, brown hair. I shrunk down into a chair waiting for the ruby's passed over my body as if I was dead. Was there more to me than I thought, or was it morning grogginess?
"What in the bloody hell are you doing here?!" She screeched.
"I came to see you darling." I chimed
"Just get the hell out of here before I start cursing!" She screamed. Alex walked into the other room. It's not like she would realize I was still here. Would she? "Bloody angel." She muttered. "I told him to leave." That was my answer.
I heard the familiar sound o the shower plinking against tile walls. A squeaky hinged door slammed locking me out. A little song came from inside the door. I listened carefully jotting it all down.
"It's a pitiful place, where no creature would live.
I was banished there, to him threatening land.
Who knows who I really am." She sang. It went on about some secret life. I would search the lyrics later. (A/N: Yes I wrote those. My lyrics are usually better, but I came up with it one the spot. Not giving much time. Yes I know it will not sound right without the melody.) The water shut off, and I heard the scrambling of feet.
"Knock knock miss singer!" I chuckled. I opened the door. She scrambled to get a towel on.
"You little-"
"I know I'm the perfect person." I finished off.
"Actually no. You are the worst person I have ever met." She said walking away to change. The sound of old doors opening filled my ears. Feet lightly stepping on creaking wood. A little nutmeg here and there. The clattering shoes walking around. I heard a gasp as she opened the balcony window.
Alex's POV.
I slipped a bright, yellow T-shirt over my head. The design on the front showed NEW YORK CITY in huge, bold letters. It had the outline of skyscrapers' reaching above the sky. Quickly I slipped on a pair of dark blue jeans. Silently I walked over and grabbed a pair of old, worn out, grey converse with neon blue laces.
Sounds of cars zooming by on the cluttered, cramped, littered, taxi filled streets reached my ears. I ran over to the balcony watching the sun gaze over people at it's ultimate high, noon. Below the people cursed the blazing heat. I loved it. I gasped as I saw the horizon straight in front of me. It was filled with tiny figures dancing about. My kind called my to come; my mind told me not to. Soon the prancing figures would raid the city in search of me. I could wait those days. I wanted to spend time out in the open before being locked away in the place of the sinners. The place I didn't belong, but others insisted I did. I would find a way out. Hope those devils of experimental dead didn't have their fingers crossed. I wasn't going back.
I walked out seeing him watching me intently. "What's wrong?" He asked raising his eyebrows. "Let me guess they're here."
"What, what do you mean?!" I gasped.
"I mean idiot that your other half is here for some reason. It's not like I'm a vampire, but I can hint at your thoughts." He said glossing over to me. "Want to go for a walk? I know you love the sun"
He was right. I loved the blazing, fire, exploding sun. Even if it reminded me of where I was kept...
"Sure." I replied. Leo smiled reassuringly. "Where though?"
"A surprise." He laughed covering my eyes.

"What are we doing here! Of all places you take me here!" I hissed. I could sense the déjà vu.
"Why? I've seen you here before."
"Why because the lat time I was here I was an outcast to civilization. I walked on the earth for the first time in years. It was a cold place to see coming back to the earth. I couldn't feel the warm rays of the sun that I loved, or feel the grass squirming beneath my bare feet as I remembered in treasured memories. It showed me what the world had become after I left." I spat.
"Sorry. We can go, but open your eyes first." He said removing his hands from my face.
"Wow."
"Yea, I know. Some angels worked on it last month. They restored it like we're doing for the earth. Thus turned out to be one of the best places yet." He chuckled.
The grass had returned; it was a luscious green. The bright blue sky that loomed above us wasn't grey from pollution or smog anymore. Flowers', trees', bushes all swayed as the wind blew by. Several benches scattered among the place. No wrappers covered the ground, or dying animals moaning. The air smelled sweet as of honey and sugar was dropped on it by the gallons. It was beautiful. Several people passed walking dogs, or hand in hand. Still who knew how long it would be before it was land forgotten and destroyed by these imbecile humans.
Humans were the most threatening of all. Monstrous creatures who never took a day off of killing, war, or anything harmful. They gave no rights to other species they didn't know. Slowly they hunted them down starting to kill themselves off too. By their acts we were rising high, but slowly falling into the crevasses of the underworld. Just as I had.
"The beasts won'r harm this land Alex." He murmured.
"Who really knows?" I muttered.
"Everybody." He offered.
"How?" I wondered.
"How do you not know?" He interrogated.
"I don't have informants like you." I whispered.
"To bad. You'll just have to wait." Leo smirked.
