LUCAS had flown to North Carolina to keep Millie company as he was the first one she had talked to after whatever happened with Rudy happened. She missed the Outer Banks so much, the sunrise, and the view of the ocean from her bedroom. She knew that commenting on Lucas's post would make Rudy jealous but she didn't care. He dared to say that to her, and he knew it would hurt.

Rudy was the second person to know about her mom out of the OBX cast. She would tell him stories about their adventures as a child and how much her mom would've liked Rudy. How could he say that to her? She'd never been hurt like that before.

"Hey," Lucas said sitting on the couch where she sat.

"Oh, h-hey," she said looking into his eyes, pushing away the pain like always. She loved Lucas as a friend and maybe at some time in her life had looked at him as more than that but he was 19 and she was 22. Age didn't really matter to Millie but being older than the person she was with always bothered her.

"How are you feeling?"

"Um, better I guess thank you for coming to see me Lukie," she said softly starring at the tea in her hands.

"Of course Mil, I'll always be here for you," he said placing a soft kiss on her forehead. His phone rang as he walked towards it picking it up.

"Hi baby," he said smiling ear to ear talking quietly.

Baby? Did little Lucas have a girlfriend?

"Um, yes I'll be home tomorrow. Our date is at 7?" he asked sheepishly.

"Okay, I love you."

"Lucas Jade!" she exclaimed.

"What?" he asked nervously knowing what she was going to ask next.

"You have a girlfriend?" she asked pure excitement fueling her veins.

"Yeah...her name is Shannon, I've known her since high school we just kinda reconnected and she's been super supportive of everything I've been doing," he said nervously at what Millie's reaction would be. He cared about her opinion more than anything.

"I'm so happy for you Lucas," she said pulling him into a hug. They spent the night watching movies and Lucas told Amelia everything about Shannon which made her heart warm that he was happy but deep down she couldn't help but think about Rudy. Were they still dating? Did she have a boyfriend? She had barely talked to any of the cast other than Chase who had stopped by the Outer Banks while visited his family. He told her that Rudy had been pushing away his feelings by hanging out with Elaine and that was the last thing she wanted to hear.

Fuck that bitch.

The next morning Millie drove Lucas to the airport as she thanked him for coming at all.

"Thank you, Luke," she said hugging him goodbye.

"Always, call me okay?" he said pulling away. He placed his hands on Bronny "keep her safe" he whispered toward the car. She waved goodbye as he walked inside the doors. A single tear left from her face he kept her together and now that he was gone she couldn't keep it in.

She turned the car on and as she went to press on the gas she heard a voice, a very familiar voice. Turning around seeing a blonde that looked exactly like Rudy she rubbed her eyes knowing the tears were playing tricks on her but she couldnt help but take a second glance and at that moment the boy was looking toward the girl as well. Rudy had taken notice of the car, not many people had a Ford Bronco anymore and he knew it had to be Millie so he stared and waited to see if she turned and as soon as she did he couldn't help but crumble seeing the tears on her face.
