I fear waking up without you there,
I fear reaching to your hand with you withdrawing it away,
I fear you as you almost got me shaking on my knees,
I fear the way you chase me in my dreams,
I fear the look you have before breaking down,
The same way I fear the salty rivers streaming down...
So I'll just build you a paper town.
Painting all the feelings you threw away...
And I'll carve your lips just the way they used to smile...
I'll draw your eyes puffy,
And color them dark...
As you witness our whole paper town just falling apart.
And the rain devouring it like flames,
Crashing and shattering it down,
Taking everything we had away...
"If it were flames it would have been better. " they said
And yes, they're true...
Flames eat up everything leaving nothing to hold on to...
Nothing but ashes and dust blown away into a universe...
While the rain melted it down to stuck on the deepest bottom,
Until the wet paper merges with our souls
And let us grow and blossom holding on and still never letting go of what was left there...In that place we used to call our own paper town...
