"There you are Katy!! Ready to shine, love?"

Aunt Jeon is very, very excited. Jungkook is right behind her but he won't look me in the eye. Nothing strange there.

Aunt Jeon asks me to follow her. We walk for quite a while and then we stop in front of a huge white door.

"This is it!" She says and before I can even imagine what 'IT' could mean, she opens the door. I can hear a hundred different voices, all talking excitedly at the same time. Aunt Jeon walks through the door and Jungkook gestures that I follow her first. He walks in after me and shuts the door behind him. I look around and I see that there are actually TWO hundred who have come. I also note that they're all wearing white or shades of baby pink.

Aunt Jeon smiles at a few people standing close to us and they smile back. I'm too shocked to actually make my facial muscles do something as difficult as smiling.

Aunt Jeon leads the way again and she climbs onto the stage.

That's when I realize how huge the stage is and that I will be at the centre of it, in the SPOTLIGHT - that I hate so much.

And then it hits me, the magnitude of what I'm about to do.

Two hundred of my parents' friends and acquaintances were going to witness me promising to get married to a boy who's just as interested in this as I am. No, he probably hates it more than I do, that INTERNATIONAL PLAYBOY!

I get onto the stage too and I can hear Jungkook right behind me. Everyone stops talking and stand up to applaud us.

Aunt Jeon goes towards the mic and we bow to the guests. She then asks the guests to sit down and we take this as our cue to walk up to the cushions they've placed at the centre of the stage. We sit facing each other as Aunt Jeon addresses the gathering.

She then hands the mic over to my mother. My mother starts speaking and I'm left in awe at the way she's speaking so comfortably to such a multitude of people. I could never.

My mom is talking about the Guo Da Li that I've come to dread. And Aunt Jeon comes to sit on the cushion next to Jungkook.

*****

Forty-five minutes of listening to elders speak, being blessed by them and giving and receiving gifts later I can finally get off the stage.

My parents and I get off the stage using the stairs on the right and the Jeon family the left. We walk up to the table that is placed right at the centre. This one is huge and has way more food when compared to the other tables.

Our parents insist that Jungkook and I sit on chairs right next to each other. They sit along with us and they talk and laugh while Jungkook and I smile occasionally. Or when we're asked questions we answer in not more than three words.

Jungkook is eating heartily. I, on the other hand, am afraid that even one bite of food can have terrible effects on my stomach. The food looks and smells wonderful and everyone seems to love it but I'm pretty sure I'll puke if I have it.

Aunt Jeon notices that I haven't been eating and asks, "Aren't you eating Katy dear? Should I ask them to bring something else if you'd like that?"

I really don't want them to know how nervous I had been or how badly it's still affecting me.

"It's not that, Aunt Jeon. I just don't have an appetite." I give her my winning smile but it doesn't work, for the first time in the history of Katy's winning smiles.

"But we insist that you try this sweetheart." Uncle Jeon passes me a plate of shredded lamb. And it smells like HERBS.

I've been told that I'm a very picky eater and lamb meat is something I strongly HATE.

I have no idea how I'm going to eat it and to make things worse, everybody at the table is looking at me expectantly.

That's when Rachel, for the first time in her life, does something that actually benefits me.

"Aaaaaargh!" There was a shrill scream and my parents, Uncle Jeon and Aunt Jeon rush to the site of the commotion. I look over and see that Rachel has gotten herself into a real mess. She's on the floor, her legs look badly twisted AND she's spilt crab stew all over herself. Definitely has to be taken to a hospital.

But to me, the shredded lamb seemed like a bigger problem. So I went back to staring at it with disdainful eyes.

Jungkook who was watching me do this says, "You really don't want to eat that. Do you?"

"Yeah, I don't."

"Don't look at it like that Katy. You're hurting it's feelings."

Without another word he pulls the plate a little closer to himself and picks a few up with his chopsticks.

"Do you hate this whole wedding thing as much as I do?"

"Mm-hmmm..."

That is all that I can say because I have a very distracting view right in front of me. A little of the gravy is smeared below his lower lip.

"You have gravy on your face. Below your lip. To your left."

He takes a tissue to his left lip. But I obviously confused my left and his left.

"I'm sorry, YOUR right."

He smirks at me and then wipes it slowly. The cocky bastard.

"Anyway..." he goes on, "do you hate it as much as I do?"

"Of course I hate it! I've had plan for my life and this completely ruins everything. And I've never in my wildest dreams, or scariest nightmares, imagined getting married to YOU!"

"Ouch." He winced, "I don't really know how to stop this from happening."

"Why did you bring it up then?"

"Just wanted to let you know that we can be married for, say, two years and then we can always DIVORCE."
