Chapter 2: New Friends

"Nice to meet you all. You guys seem like a well balanced and trusting group." [Clover]

"Well. We do try to cover for everyone's weaknesses so we just happened to be this well balanced." [Reese]

"I guess you could say we are well balanced, but Tarvin here is a real problem child." [Leon]

"WHADDYA MEAN?!" [Tarvin]

Leon and Tarvin get in a little tussle. Clover concludes that Tarvin is the stereotypical troublemaker of the group or the person who is overly eccentric.

"Are you traveling alone, Clover?" [Bailey]

Clover looks over to the women clad in light armor wielding a sword at her hilt and a lance on her back.

"Yes." [Clover]

"Do you know where you're headed?" [Kayone]

Leader Kayone continues the conversation with Clover.

"At the moment, I am traveling with the caravan until we reach the capital. Also, I just want to know what a journey is like." [Clover]

Clover didn't want to let unnecessary people know where he is currently headed. Valraii forest from what priestess Alicia and Renner have told him previously aren't very friendly to humans, but they are appreciative of any culture. Humans just happen to have a very bad rep in this world.

After the fact, the group offers a slight fascination with Clover's destination and goals when going on the journey with them.

"Uooh, that's pretty interesting. Well, I hope our little motley crew can give you a decent journey and hopefully teach a newbie like you the ropes." [Kayone]

Kayone looks towards the rest of her group and makes a head gesture, the rest of the group agree to it. Clover thinks to himself, 'hmph. These guys aren't that bad to be around.'

The rest of the group smile in adding Clover to their little squad at least until the journey to the capital has been fulfilled.

"You see, we are in it for the long run, this journey is supposed to take 5 months anyway." [Tarvin]

"Yeah, from the trade city of Belcroft all the way to the capital is one heck of a journey but I wouldn't travel that long distance without these guys by my side." [Reese]

"Awwww Reese-chan!! This is why we love you so much!!!!" [Bailey]

Bailey gives Reese an undeserved hug which gives Reese anxiety because she's shy with the sudden amount of affection in front of a stranger.

"Ehhhh!" [Reese]

"Haha!" Clover burst into a childish laughter fit for his age. Clover was really enjoying the atmosphere around this group. It kinds of reminds him of the interaction between him, Hazel and Lucy back at home. He knows it hasn't been that long since he left the city and everyone but he still misses them.

Tarvin and Leon get closer to Clover and both smack Clover on the back.

"You can stick with us for the entire trip buddy! Our group will always welcome a new member, and you seem pretty confident of your abilities despite your age." [Tarvin]

"As what he said Clover, besides..." [Leon]

Leon leans in closer to Clover's ear to whisper something. Clover gets a little uncomfortable but decides to hear what this guy has to say.

"We need more guys in this group..." [Leon]

Tarvin overheard what Leon had to say and also nodded. There was an imbalance of masculinity and femininity in the group and it seemed that Tarvin and Leon were begging for Clover to at least join the group temporarily for the duration of this trip for their own sake.
