After having a long discussion about my training, Leslie walked me home. She fed me and let me rest. I am now lying on my bed. My eyes are wide open but I can’t see a thing. I hate this. I miss everything. I want to see everything again. I want to see his face... his smile... his awaited glimpse... his heart-warming stares...

I can’t bring myself to sleep. I sat up and thought about everything that has been happening. Tons of questions filled my mind.

Is Steven okay? How does he know Aim?

What happened to Aim? Where he has been these past 5 years?

Who is the boy who killed my father? Why is it better for me not to know?

Who else is a traitor? Will I be able to learn how to kill? Can I train while I’m blind?

I then remembered Professor’s last sentence before I left his office...

“By the way Adriana... Why are you always with Steven? Does he know your secrets? Don’t get him involved. We’ll be leaving tomorrow. Don’t say a word to him.”

I’ll be training for three years. I’ll be apart from him for three years.

“So... I’ll spend my 2 years blind huh?” I mumbled to myself.

I lay on my bed and tears suddenly fell from my eyes.

I miss you Aim...

I miss you mom, dad...

I really miss those moments spent with Aim. We used to fight about the dumbest reasons. I miss the smell of my mother’s cooking, and her voice while she’s preparing our meal in the kitchen. I miss dad’s compliments and tight hugs. I cried myself to sleep. The next time I opened my eyes, the sun has already risen.

“Good morning sleeping beauty! Your things are already packed up.”

Leslie helped me eat and prepare myself. Les held my hand the whole we were travelling. It made me remembered Steven. When we already met up with Professor, Leslie said good bye. We took a ship to get to Cnidocil. The whole travelling time, I was sleeping. It was so boring to see nothing but black! The day passed so fast. We arrived at Cnidocil and we slept on a comfortable bed. I don’t know where but at Cnidocil but, it felt just like home. When I woke up, I thought it was still night. I nearly forgot that I was blind!

I felt something weird. I heard someone drew a sword out and is going to attack me. I suddenly bit my thumb quickly and a sword appeared on my hands. It was right on time to counter the attack. I flipped up and took several steps backwards. I heard Professor’s laugh.

“You’re good even with your ears alone.”

What was that? He tried to kill me?

“We’ll be working on that. We’ll make your other senses stronger, your sensory skills.”

“You know, professor. I’ve been wondering, if I am the strongest rym in Nowhere, why are you training me? I’m stronger than you right?” He laughed at me.

“Yes you are. But you see Adriana, you still lack experiences and wisdom about tigrines and how things go.”

That day went so fast. Professor taught me fight without my sight. He just left me in the middle of Cnidocil and went back for me when the dawn fell. What a great professor! But no doubt, I learned something. I was able to fight and kill chimeras. I survived and was able to defend myself. I had trained my ears so hard. It almost bled. You see, in a jungle, it’s hard to pinpoint where your foe is because of the unnecessary sounds around you.
