At age thirteen,
Hannah had to the flower girl at her mother's wedding. Ms. Cohen, soon to be Mrs. Richards, wanted her oldest daughter, Kenni, to be the maid of honor but she refused. Lately, Ms. Cohen couldn't get Kenni under her wing anymore. Kenni despised her soon-to-be-stepfather. Though, he'd never be that in her eyes.
Hannah and Rebecca were also constantly arguing, as well. Rebecca was now eighteen but hadn't even mentioned going to college so she was still home all the time.
But Rebecca could've made it far. Her mother had made her apply to Harvard. She got in. She could go and be some grand CEO of some grand business. Hannah always thought that's what Rebecca would do. But she didn't.
"Is Kenni even coming?" Rebecca hissed to her younger sister. Rebecca thought nothing of the eldest daughter. Kenni didn't think anything of the middle daughter, either.
"Probably not." Hannah said, looking back at her phone. She was still anxiously waiting for a call from her childhood friend, Xavier.
"God, she's such a brat." Her sister said. Hannah ignored her.
Hannah Cohen wasn't like many flower girls. She begged her mother for black rose petals, she didn't applaud the kiss, and she just desperately wanted Kenni to come get her.
