Nathanyel's P.O.V.

As Solomon continued to rumage through the Trove, Nathanyel was becoming bored. He already paced around the site and went through practicing with his staff, and yet that barely took the edge off of his boredom.

That wasn't good... after all, Nathanyel should never be bored, because when it was he often descended into his madness. He needed to be distracted.

So in with that thought in mind, the man walked to the outer edge of the Trove, looking for some items that might be interesting or useful.

In doing so, Nathanyel remembered. He hated remembering... After she left, that was all he could do. Remember the times they had, the mischief they wrought, the epic battles... All just gone... It made him feel so angry.

It wasn't working... It never worked to begin with...

But anger wasn't needed, they said. It would destroy you, they said. And they were right... or at least seemed to be. So he changed... He replaced scowls with smiles and left the shadows... or so they thought.

He hid behind a facade, behind a mask- No... behind a smile. The most dangerous disguise there was... That got them of his back, and that was all he needed. They stopped looking twice and nobody knows... Absolutely no one. Not them, not her and absolutely not Solomon, and that gave him Freedom. Freedom to mope, to cry, to do everything he wanted.

And once in a while, when he was sure that no one would walk in, just like now, at least for the mean time, he just lets go of everything... the shields, the mask, still there... ready for anything, just stashed away.

No... he was wrong... He always was. He didn't need freedom. He just wanted. He just wanted someone to see through his broken defenses, see him weak, and still want him. Just him.

He knew it was wrong but it felt so right. So he continued on... He continued to fake it until he made it, but he does wonder, if there would be a time, he could be true to himself and everyone. But that was just a thought.

Branches and leaves being crunched underfoot brought Nathanyel back. He stopped his train of thought, put back his smile and approached the visitor he knew would follow.

"Hey James! Over here!" He called out to the man. The man turned and waved in return. James ran towards him and stopped short a few feet away.

      "Was I late?" James asked.

      "Since when are you not?"

"I- You- Your right... Anyway, where's the shrimp?"

"Shrimp?" Nathanyel was confused, "We don't shrimp here, go to the river if you want to fish for some. The Trove doesn't have any."

"Thats not what I meant... I meant-"

"Hey!" A third voice calls out, and running towards us is Solomon, holding what looks like a plush bear. As he got nearer, he suddenly stops short.

'Why did he-' Nathanyel doesn't even get to finish the thought.

"Well look who it is! Shortie! Nice to see ya! What ya need a teddy for?" James calls out to the other and Solomon twitches.

Oh dear, we might have a problem...
