Raksha's P.O.V

The next few days were the same. Apparently Mathew could control fire...the jerk. It was my favourite and he was nowhere highly above average at using the element. Even I didn't have that much control. Jordan the poor sucker got air. Slightly above average but has not learnt some of the easiest things to do with it. If he tries to fly he can't control where he's going. Sigh. Kestrel and I's date was fun they were part of Ashtons line. Kind of sad but once they found out who I was they had to tell my mother who couldn't wait to meet me. Sadly Lissa, Jade and Ash are in California so I'm on my own in this. Matt and I are...I don't know what we are. And me being me would drag him along with me because I don't want my mother to think I'm a lesbian or something if I dragged Kestrel along. And he was also one of my childhood friends.

"Come on Matt, we need to get ready, I have the directions to moms house and there's only half an hour before we're late." I said impatiently.

"Okay fine...but I'm driving." He said. I didn't bother arguing with him so I just tossed him the keys while kestrel looked shocked that I gave in so easily. I rushed upstairs and quickly put on a pair of black denim jeans, a dark blue tank top and a pair of black shoes. I quickly applied lip gloss, a little eye liner and smudged it sexily, a little mascara and eye shadow.

Mathew was banging on the door by the time I was done. "Come on you are going to make us late!" he yelled. I quickly grabbed my new Fendi black crocodile skin bag and rushed out the door.

"Okay I'm ready!" I yelled back as I ran out the door and grabbed Mathew's hand. We hopped into the car and sped to the upper east side of Manhattan.

~~~30 minutes later~~~

"Hello? Oh my Raksha! You've grown up into a beautiful powerful young woman! You were fifteen minutes late and I thought you weren't going to show up! Who is this? He doesn't seem to be naturally one of us." My mother exclaimed.

"Hi! This is Mathew, It's his fault we were late. He took a wrong turn you see." I said grinning evilly.

"Hi? And I took a wrong turn because somebody told me to turn left." He said looking at me.

"I meant your other left." I said exasperated. My mother chuckled and smiled nicely.

"Why don't you come into my house and have lunch. I'm going to assume Delos told you about the royal clans." My mother said. "The head of the other clans would like to meet you. So I also invited them. Is that okay?" she continued. I smiled my fake smile.

"of course I'm fine, the more the merrier right?" I said. Mathew noticed my smile and gave my hand a comforting squeeze. Okay at least I'll look unavailable to all of them...no match making or arranged marriages. I'll be semi-fine. Right?

Wrong. Ashton tried to sell me of to what's-his-name. Ashton was about my mother's age. He pretty much looked like a general in the military. Melanie took interest in my lifestyle surrounded by humans. So far in all my life I only had 4 slipups. Melanie's daughter was nice and funny. She's the heir of the line and told Ashton he was being a jerk and to leave me alone. I had obviously annoyed him by refusing his sons hand. Carman was nice too but overly polite she took interest in my elements, abilities and the fact I died and came back to life. Like my mother. Liam took interest in Matt and asked him a bunch of questions about the transformation, side effects etc. My mother paid plenty of attention to me and asked me a bunch of questions about my life with Lissa and Jade surrounded by humans. Mathew didn't hesitate to tell them every embarrassing story about me and vice versa. Luckily for me, Matt has had more embarrassing moments than me.

Sweet victory. When they heard about Ciaran and hunter and Killian they promised to deal with them and their followers. What a relief. No chance of being stalked. Time to go to California. Where the grass is really greener.

~~~In California~~~

The next day...

"What do you mean we're going to school!? No way! You're going to have to drag me there if you really want me to go there so once again...NO WAY!" I screamed. Why did Ash have to enrol us? I could kill someone there unintentionally.

"Calm down. Everyone else thinks it's a good idea." He nonchalantly answered.

"That's because everyone else is either crazy, a freak or a workaholic!" I yelled as I marched into my room.
