Raksha's P.O.V
Yeah...I'm going to a human school...I don't think so. Kestrel was banging on the door.
"That's it Raksha! If you don't get ready for school in an hour I'm going to burn your crocodile skin Fendi bag!" Kestrel threatened. Oh no. Not my Fendi bag. I was so freaked out that I got ready in half an hour, rushed out the room and shook her.
"WHERE IS MY BABY!?" I screamed in her face. She looked shocked. Suddenly Ash and Dimitri grabbed me and dragged me into the car. Kestrel looked apologetic.
"Sorry Raksha but your 'baby' is in your room on your desk." Kestrel said. I was so frantic I didn't notice. Damn. But I taught her well.
"I taught you well." I said glaring. She gave me a half smile and muttered something about only I could think about something like that when I was betrayed by my best friend and being dragged off against my will...Unfortunately it was true. Ash put me in the car and stared at me shocked when I didn't fight, scream or yell like I was being murdered.
"What? You guys won fair and square right?" I said. I was defeated thus I would go to some stupid California school.
Once we arrived we went to the office to collect our time tables and we parted ways. Stupid school, couldn't they provide someone to show me around? I waited a while and figured out a plan. Avoid the geeks and popular freaks (I rhymed see) and annoying players. Go for a decently popular, nice person and ask for directions and be friends and nothing much would have changed. I spotted a nice looking red head and was about to ask her for directions until she turned around. Her blue eyes had rings. It was cool and made me jealous. How come she got the good eyes? She saw me staring and glared at me before turning away. I approached her and she glared at me.
"Look, I'm new and need directions to biology could you please show me the way." I asked semi-nicely.
"Look I saw you staring at my freaky eyes so don't think just cause your new you can do whatever you want." She snapped at me.
"You should be polite. Your Carmen's daughter and heir to the line so I am going to assume you know who Rashel is. Do you know who she is?" I said annoyed at her. She stared at me and went pale.
"Y-y-yes. I know who she is?" she stuttered. Making what she just said sound like a question.
"Well my mother ordered your mother to enrol me and my family and friends. Do you know who my mother is?" I asked purposely sounding sweet but you could hear the dangerous undertone. She shook her head in denial. No she did not want to believe I was the Queen's daughter. "Rashel is my mother now can you please show me where biology is?"
She nodded her head. My good mood instantly restored. "Thanks. I'm Raksha." I said happily. She stared at me shocked. "Now it's your turn to introduce yourself." I pointed out.
"I'm Carly." She said shocked. "Are you bipolar or something or is it just you?" She asked curiously.
"Just me." I answered smiling amused. "You don't beat around the bush...I like that."
She smiled. "It's a bad habit in my mother's opinion." She explained.
"Hey your blunt it's no big deal." I said.
"let me see your schedule...It's pretty much the same as mine...I'll introduce you to more of us." She said. We sat next to each other and ignored the teacher as we chatted away. Of course she tried but failed to get me to introduce myself...It was pretty much the same for the rest of the classes except some had Kestrel or Mathew or Jordan in them.
Jade's P.O.V
Kestrel, Matt, Jordan, Ash, Dimitri and even Raksha each had made at least one friend and school had barely started. When I finally got to class I was five minutes late (I still feel a little guilty invading the receptionist's thoughts to find the info. Quite easy cause it's so organised). Raksha's advice flowed through my head: When new and late for class especially when the teacher is obsessed with tardiness say you're late, got lost and the magical words are 'sorry' and 'yes sir/mam'.
"I'm sorry I'm late for history sir, but I got a little lost. I'll try and make sure it doesn't happen again." I said purposely pulling the puppy dog eyes.
"Very well...err..." he trailed off to scan the class list.
"Jade." I said helpfully
"Very well Jade, there is a seat next to Jared. Now who can tell me..."I sat next to Jared and didn't bother paying attention. Then the teacher said the dreaded words. Pop quiz. I did what Raksha did during a history pop quiz or test. Freeze time to either hack into the school computer to cheat or read the text book.
"Now pop quiz." The teacher said and handed out the worksheets. You have fifteen minutes...Begin." And nobody moved including me. Thankfully this had happened before when Raksha first figured out how to do it. But it wasn't Raksha's power signature...who cares break out of it and take your history textbook out and save yourself! I mean who cares about something that happened way before you were born. What's better about the situation is I can't get into trouble. But it was unnerving to know someone in this school is that powerful. I had done this so often that soon I was done.
"Your one of us." A shocked voice said. Causing me to jump. I looked in the direction it came from and ended up looking at Jared. I stared into his amber eyes too shocked to do anything but stupidly nod my head. When I could talk again I snapped at him. Taking my so far bad day out at him.
"You do know that that's a stupid thing to do if people like us go here right?" I snapped.
"That's why I focus on them...I never had someone resist before..." He said but trailed off.
"I know some other people who probably resisted." I snapped as I grabbed his hand and tugged him to Raksha's class.
"Oh hi Jade, good timing we were about to do dissection. Lissa, Kestrel, Ash and Dimitri are frozen in time...They deserve it for dragging me to school. I don't see why Carman won't put people like us in an entirely different class to prevent cheating...not that that would stop us but still it would be nice to know who is like us and who isn't...Who's that?" Raksha blabbered.
"He's Jared from history...there was a pop quiz." I explained while he stared at my big sis stunned.
"He looks like Kestrel." Raksha admitted causing me to stare at him. Jared was well toned and very muscular for a 15 year old. He was about 2 inches taller than me and looked like the male version of Kestrel except his eyes are amber. I blushed and looked away. He was hot. Raksha stared at my now red face.
Oh shut up. Don't even think about it. I warned her guessing what was going on in her mind.
About what? She replied and looked smug which cause me to glare at her
"Nice meeting you Jared now if you'd excuse me I need to concentrate on my plan to get everyone but Jade to regret bringing me here and it's going quite well." Raksha said dismissively.
When we got back to class Jared looked at me smugly and said. "So...I'm hot huh." I blushed and glared at him. "What you were so shocked your shields came down." I glared at him and got a brilliant idea.
"You know...Rashel is my mother." I said. Yes Delos told us the story. Just as I predicted his shields dropped and I quickly went into his mind...OMG he wasn't paying attention when I came in so when I sat next to him he thought some sort of goddess magically appeared right next to him. "So, I'm a goddess huh." I said.
"Shut up." He said glaring while I laughed. This day might not be so bad after all.
