Yumi and Juyeon's first meeting was quite awkward in the first 30 minutes as it turned out that they were both more talkative in chat. In Yumi's defense, words had just clogged up her throat, not getting to come out and express her thoughts as he was too handsome in real life. He was unreal. The way he had reminded him of a Prince, but also someone whom her mother warned her about, she was just speechless.
In the span of an hour break, the two had managed to get to know each other more and talk about University life
She was certainly enjoying her time with Juyeon as he was pretty attentive and was honest with his thoughts. He was calm yet someone who has an impact and his existence just intrigued her. However, she was scared. Scared of the fact that she knew that it might not be for a long run, thus, Yumi had kept in mind to keep her options open. And by that, when the sun had set and the moon lit up the dark sky, she had also started on getting to know Park Serim, a student who studies in another University, an hour and a half away.
Thursday afternoon, the professor had a scheduled meeting with a parent, hence, he had just given the students work to finish and submit by 5pm. Just like everyone else inside the room, Yumi had her head buried with notes and papers that were given to them as the material. Although, she couldn't quite focus much as she was distracted by her phone that kept on vibrating on the pocket of her jean jacket. Giving up, she fished it out and checked on it.
The girl's eyes had widened upon seeing Serim's messages. She forgot that she was supposed to meet him in an hour at the front of the University gates as he promised to pick her up.
"Who's that?" Arin questioned her, squinting her eyes while trying to sneak up closer to Yumi and read the contact upon noticing that she had stopped working. However, Yumi was quick to lock her phone. "No one." She laughed awkwardly which blew her off.
"You're so bad at covering stuff up, you know." Arin chuckled as the corners of her lips curled, teasing her friend. Yumi shrugged. "So who is it, really? Is it Juyeon?"
"Remember how I told you I wanted to keep my options open?" Yumi started slowly, trying to see how Arin would react. "Well, I kind of met Serim from another University and he seems pretty nice and entertaining. We planned to meet later." Yumi admitted, her eyes fluttering back and forth from her desk to her friend while her fingers fumbled with her skirt.
Arin had released another chuckle at how Yumi looked so embarrassed about it when it was only normal to meet people as she wasn't in a relationship to be binded by someone.
Xiaojun who sat behind them with his own set of friends clicked his tongue and squinted his sharp eyes towards Yumi before he rolled them. He heard the whole conversation even though he didn't want to listen nor shouldn't have listened. He didn't blame himself though as he knew for a fact that their voices were pretty loud and wasn't a whisper. In fact, he even thought that others around them must've heard them too. It actually annoyed him how their voices distracted him from focusing on his work.
It annoyed him how he was caught up in her again.
