I woke up to the early sun rays shining through the windows lighting up the dorm. As usual, I was the first to wake, all the other kids were still fast asleep in their beds. I got out of bed and got dressed into my training clothes, ready for my training which would take up most of the day. As I was buckling up my armour, Cree began to stir from his rest.

"Morning, Y/N" Cree yawned, getting out of bed in a wobble. He may be a good fighter, but he was the clumsiest boy I had ever met in my fifteen years of living.

"Good morning, Cree" I replied back, smiling at his clumsiness.

"What are you smiling at?" He questioned with a smirk on his face.

"Nothing" I answered, before walking out of the dorm and heading to the food hall for breakfast

I chucked some food onto a plate and sat down at the table. While I was eating, Cree and the others walked in. They all sat down on the table talking to each other and Cree sat down opposite me. I looked up to him to see he had a cocky smirk on his face.

"So, do you think you can beat me today at spear throwing?" He smirked, waiting for me to answer.

I eyed him before swallowing a mouthful of bread, "totally."

He laughed, "I would love to see you try."

He was challenging me, so like the competitive person I was, I accepted. "Fine, the person who hits the most targets wins, but, the person that loses has to muck out the stables," I smirked at Cree, waiting for him to accept the deal.

"Deal!" We shook hands and headed to our training.

***

All eight of us waited patiently, spears in hand, waiting to start throwing.

"As you know, today you will be practicing spear throwing. Aim for the bullseye on the target, and remember, keep your aim true. You may begin." Titus gestured to us to start our throwing.

I noticed that by Titus,  stood the commander, she must be watching us train today. No pressure. I watched Astrid throw her spear, it hit the side of the target, making her grunt in frustration. My attention was brought to the side of me where Cree and thrown his spear, hitting the bullseye.

He looked over to me and smiled, "beat that!"

I raised my spear, took aim, and threw powerfully forward, earning the satisfying sound of my spear hitting the middle of the target.

I looked over to Cree, smirking.

"Fair play, now let's see who can hit the most bullseyes," Cree looked away from me and concentrated on his aim.

This was going to be fun.

After three long hours of throwing spears and learning new skills, it was finally over and it was time to see who won our little competition. Walking over to Cree with a smirk on my face, I thumped him on the shoulder to get his attention.

He turned around and looked at me. "So, how many you get?" He asked curiously.

"Hmmm, you say first," I crossed my arms.

"No, you!" He said, crossing his arms too.

"Nope."

"Y/N, tell-."

"Noooooo!"

"Fine!" Cree finally gave in to my stubbornness. "I got twenty bullseyes!" He said, his cocky smile returning, happy at his score.
