═════"I also need to go" I stand; ignoring everyone else and Naomi's glares.
I slip out into the hallways as several officers pass by. That liquid was anything but normal. It was poison. If I hadn't been to that shitty science class my school once held I wouldn't figure that bottle was poison. Diana wouldn't kill herself with it, for sure; she can however, kill anyone she lays her eyes on.
I spot a washing basin in a white room and I instantly turn around. The bathroom stinks. The floor was wet with brown as I scrunch my nose the more I walked in there.
I snap my head when a door clicks and reveals Diana.
"What do you want" she fails in an attempt to snap at me.
"Why did you fake deaths" I fire back.
"No one cared about them, so I-"
"Your not gonna die that easily; not today, at least" I cut her, "I'll pain you just like you did to Thompson"
She chuckled. Only this one was obvious enough to be fake. The 'X' on her forehead shines as the bathroom lights reveal it. Her dry lips were painted with an orange tint, it scared me. She'll be like Thompson sooner or later.
"That's what he got for hiding her" she stops her hideous laughter.
"Hiding who" I hiss.
"Little, innocent, Noa" she grinned, "Her death was also supposed to be faked, but that nosey Veronica didn't keep herself shut and took her" she adds, "Thats why her hands are branded".
"Shut Up" I snap.
"I'd count my lucky starts if I were you, Alice, because you were a candidate for this job like Bennett" her mouth falls open in laughter.
Her teeth was tinted with crimson. Red liquid escapes her mouth like a waterfall. She notices the same too when blood spits on to her fingers. Her wide eyes stare at her now blooded fingers as beads of tears roll down her face.
"The poison worked" she weakly smiles. She was now trembling when more blood pours like a waterfall down her lips. "I'm dying" her shimmering eyes look into mine. Her tone was hopeless, the exact same tone Thompson had when he said this sentence.
"Don't be like her" she swallows half of the blood. Her crimson eyes turn jade-green when she flatly falls on her knees.
"Don't be like mom" , "She never loved me" her head banged into the ground.
"Life is lethal" She finally closes her eyes; only to never open them again.
The moment she closed her eyes someone screamed painfully. I bury my head into my cupped hands like a wailing baby.
They're freed. Thompson, Travis, Bennett, and maybe even Tiffany are set free. There is no longer anyone that is cursed.I leave the corpse in the bathroom and slowly walk to the court. I can't bring myself to run; this was the second time in my lifetime that I saw a corpse. Naomi violently kicked the door open with glossy eyes. She pitifully shakes her head when I tried to speak.
I recklessly barge into the court to see Tyler pressing his head against the table as his whole body raked with sobs. Behind him was Tiffany, but she wasn't conscious; she was dead. Veronica covered her mouth with her hands as she also cried.
"Tiffany killed herself" Naomi painfully whispers.
Travis's eyes were no longer crimson; it was hazel alongside him Bennett's eyes were turned back to its normal green state.
"Everything ended" Naomi states, "The cult, the false deaths, The marks and the red eyes" she adds.
I notice mom and dad trembling in a corner with Logan hugging his knees. What could've happened that even Logan is scared?
"What happened?" My voice was hoarse.
"I... We heard the last minute of your conversation with Diana" she sighs, "So the moment she said her last words Tiffany stabbed herself and Tyler cried"
"Everyone changed when she died" she states.
"Cassandra knew everything. She confessed today" she continues, "Bennett said that he did all this to protect you from being a victim-" she painfully smiles.
"I doubt that" I cut her.
"Your doubts wouldn't matter because Bennett has to spend his next few years in jail" she laughs at the irony.
"That's it?" I let out a squeak-like sound.
═════
The first time Thompson truly smiled from the bottom of his broken heart; was right now, at the hospital.
I never really earned any profits from this mess but others did. Thompson found his lost son; Naomi seemed to care more about her foster family and Tyler begun to have a better relationship with Naomi.Tyler had to have a different past; I wouldn't blame him for what happened. He had to do many things to pay off his family fees.
I guess Naomi and him were partners in crime; and drugs. They drifted apart because of an unpleasant precedent.Ever since Travis was found Thompson spoke more than twice a week. Who knew he had hazel eyes identical to his son.
I wish I would've met everyone in a different way; I wish Naomi didn't have to go through many things. If I had killed Diana earlier Tiffany would be alive. True, she's vile but she was a good person; I trust Naomi's words.
But I never trusted myself,
Until I burnt that diary down.
