Holding onto something for a long time can ultimately destroy you. But in this moment they needed each other and they needed to feel the others heart beating in case something horrible happened. They can't lose each other, that's something they ultimately do not want to happen. Over the last couple months the two became close, almost as close as best friends, they told each other everything, never lied to each other, and always comforted one another when needed. They were the poster siblings, sure they had their ups and downs but they still cared for one another, so they'll be damned if they let a psychotic killer tear them away from each other.

Attachment can mean an untimely demise for most. Of course that's what he was thinking when the thought of losing Hayley came to mind. Being the oldest of the two Levi thought he had to protect her in a way, that's the job of an older brother right, so why did he think he was failing that part of the job? He had to protect her, especially in times like these. That day shocked them to the core, her more than him. That day he swore that nothing would happen to her or Kaden he bet his life on that. His sisters needed him to be strong so that's what he's going to do; he's going to be strong for those that need him. He just hopes they find whoever killed James and that the bastard gets what's coming to them. The fact that he was found in his backyard makes him bothered immensely, why would someone plant the body there? Why would they kill someone anyway, that's cold and heartless. So many thoughts ran through his head, he started feeling dizzy and lightheaded, then everything went black.

Upon waking Levi heard the annoying sound of beeping, he slowly and groggily opened his eyes; when his eyes fully opened he realized he was in the hospital. On his right side he felt someone holding his hand; looking over he saw it was his mother.
"Where am I?" He choked out.
His mothers head snapped up, her eyes met his, "oh good you're up. You were out for nearly three days. I'll go get the doctor." She said standing up.
"Wait, where are the others?" His voice seemed deeper than usual when he spoke.
"Well your dad is at work, I had to force Hayley and Kaden to go school." She spoke softly. Levi nodded and allowed her to leave the room in search of the doctor.
Ten minutes later and his mom walked in with the doctor.
"You must be Levi, I am Doctor Monroe, I'm going to ask you a few questions is that alright?" Levi nodded in response.
"Good, so Levi do you remember what happened?"
Once again Levi nodded and answered him. "Yeah I do, uhm something happened this past week and it's gotten to me. I guess I started overthinking about it too much and I guess I just passed out."
Doctor Monroe hummed signaling he was listening, "Now could this be because of the recent incident that happened in your neighborhood?" Levi simply nodded.
"Okay, now can you tell me what you were overthinking about?" He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. His throat started closing his breathing became erratic and he started feeling dizzy.
"Levi I need you to calm down ok? Breathe with me son." Levi listened carefully and followed his breathing, about five minutes passed and Levi felt less panicked.
"There you go Levi, are you able to tell me now?" Levi cleared his throat before speaking, "Yeah, I started thinking about how at any moment that bastard could take away my sisters. I need to protect them..it's my job." Monroe nodded and stood up, "Alright, I guess that's enough for right now so you sir don't panic again hm? I will let them know and a nurse will be in shortly." With that Doctor Monroe left the room. Levi felt like he couldn't keep his eyes open any longer. He started feeling drowsy, and soon enough the fell asleep.
Levi woke up to the nurse doing vital checks and hushed whispers in the room, he could distinctly hear Kaden speaking, the loud mouth. Levi simply didn't want to deal with anything at the moment so he went back to sleep, to hushed whispers and light conversations between his parents and the nurse.

Once he woke up for the second time, two heads snapped over to him and his father was right by his side in a heartbeat.
"How you feelin' bud?"
"Everything fucking hurts." Levi groaned.
"Makes sense you hit your head pretty heard." Kaden says as she tried to stifle a laugh. Mr. Rhodes smacked the back of her head.
"Ow dad! What it's true, if he hadn't fainted for literally no reason at all we wouldn't be here." She complained. Levi chuckled a bit then realized two people are missing, "Wait where's mom and Haylee?"
"They're in the lobby, only two people were allowed in here." Kaden clarifies.
"I'll go get them ok?" His dad says and they both leave.
A couple minutes later Haylee and her mom walks in the room. Haylee replaces his dad in the spot he previously sat on his left, while Laura stands on his right side. Everyone was quiet, it was obvious they were both worried as to why he suddenly passed out. Haylee worse then their mom.
About ten minutes had passed before Haylee speaks up quite agitated with the situation at hand.
"So, what the hell happened? I mean you seem fine the entire day then suddenly you passed out for no reason?" He glared in his direction wanting an answer right then and there. But before Levi could answer Officer Collins walked through the door.
