Levi's POV

I was laying on my bed reading a comic book. After I got tired of that I started up my PS 4 and played COD. I was on my fourth round when I heard Hayley scream for mom. But mom wasn't home so I went downstairs to see what she was screaming about. After she told me what she saw, she took me to the creek. She left to call the police. I walked over to the body and rolled him on his back.
"Oh god." I covered my mouth in shock. The murder victim was James Blakely. The quiet kid that sat in the back of the class.
"Fuck. What the hell did you do to deserve this?" As soon those words left my mouth Hayley came back and told me the cops were coming. She looked at James and started crying. So I held her to calm her down.
"That's when we heard the sirens and you guys showed up."
"Do you know who the boy was?" Officer Collins asked.
"Yeah, yeah I do. James Blakely. He was the quiet kid in the class. Never really talked. Really smart. From what I know he had all A's in every class. He was actually a good guy. He didn't really do anything to piss many people off. He didn't really have many people hang out with. He was mostly in the library." I replied.
"Do you know who would want to kill Mr. Blakely?"
"No. I guess the only person who would want to hurt in anyway is his half brother. But even though they didn't get along all that well, Harley wouldn't kill his brother. The closest they got to hurting one another was a misunderstanding when James was talking to Jamie, Harley's girlfriend. But even then, Harley wouldn't go as far as killing his own brother."
"Do you know where we can find Harley?" Collins asked.
"The only place I can think of is Jamie's house. The guy basically live there after his mom kicked him out after getting busted for his alcohol addiction, but that was three years ago. He barely drinks anymore after the shit that happened with his mom and when Jamie threatened to leave him if he didn't clean himself up. Since then he's been harboring at Jamie's." I told him.
"I take it you and Harley are close if you know this much about him?"
I scoff, "Hardly, we were close friends once upon a time. But after he got into alcohol he changed. He kept trying to control mine and Jamie's life. When drunk he would call me to just talk. You couldn't shut the guy up until he blacked out. Eventually he told me that his mom kicked him out. Since then he's been harboring at Jamie's."
"Alright well thank you Levi. You can go back to your family." Officer Mason said.
I nodded, before I walked out I turned around to face them. "I hope you catch the bastard that did this to James. He didn't deserve this."
"We can't promise anything kid. But we'll try our damnedest." Collins replied.
I then walked out to the lobby to meet mom and Hayley.
"Well the detective just informed me we'll be staying somewhere else in a protective program seeing as our home is a crime scene."
"Alright well let's go get our stuff and get to our temporary place."
"You're serious?!" Hayley yelled. "You're seriously going leave our home. Home is the safest place to be!"
"Hayls our home is a crime scene. Don't you get it? Whoever planted James there, knows where we live now. At any point in time he could come after one of us. Do you really want that?!" I snapped at her. I rarely do that. I've always been calm and collected but right now everything is so chaotic and stressful I couldn't help it.
"I-I guess you're right. I'm overwhelmed and everything is chaotic I just want to sleep." She said.
"Let's go home." Mom piped up.
