in korean we have formal and informal sentences.

there are also certain words that have the same meaning but is used at different times.

요 at the end of sentences makes them polite.

안녕하세요 - hello

네 - yes

아니요 - no

고맙습니다 - thank you

감사합니다 - thank you [More polite]

정말 고맙습니다 - thank you very much

죄송합니다 -  I am sorry

천만에요 - you're welcome 

실례합니다 - excuse me (get someones attention)

잠시만요 - excuse me (get past crowds and stuff.)

informal: 아니에요/뭴요 - You're welcome


INTRODUCTIONS / GREETINGS ˋ( ° ▽、° ) 

when it is a question, at the end you raise your voice up a bit

 잘 지냈어요? - how are you?

만나서 반갑습니다 - it is nice to meet you/i am pleased to meet you

제 이름은 ~입니다  - my name is ~ [More formal]

나는 ~입니다 - my name is ~

저는 ~이에/예요. - i am ~ [이에요 is for consonant, 예요 is for vowel] - informal

상함을 여쮜봐도 될까요? - lit. may I ask what your name is?

안녕히 가세요 - bye [when you're staying]

안녕히 계세요 - bye [when you're leaving]
