It was a quiet afternoon. I spend the whole day washing and preparing meals for the tribe. I grabbed my fire stone and kept hitting it until the branches under the cattle caught fire. I quietly watched the water until it started to boil, and poured myself a cup of tea. I blowed on it and took a sip. I smiled as I felt the tea making it's way way through my throat, a pleasant and warm sensation, compared to the bitter cold outside. It wasn't as good as the tea Ginseng tea father used to bring back from one of his adventures in the Earth Kingdom, but it was good enough to bring back nice memories and create a warmth.

"Istari!" I shook awake out of my daydream as I heard someone hissing my name. Irritated I sighed and shoved the curtain away. Sokka and Katara were standing in front of my tent with a boy in their arms. "What's that?" I asked confused, pointing at the boy. "He's an Airbender, we found him in an iceberg! With a giant bison."

I looked sheepishly at Katara but managed to quickly adapt. "Lay him down here." I said as I shoved some stuff away. I pulled the blanket up over him and stared at him. "It's rude to stare you know." Sokka said.

"Shut up." I replied quietly and I looked closer at the boy. I couldn't help but looking at his tattoos and bald head. There weren't many of these people. In fact, no one has seen anyone like him in a very long time. He was "An Airbender?" I whispered and gasped. "What is it?" Sokka asked. I quickly shook my head. "Nothing." I said quickly and I stood up. "Let him rest... I am sure he must be very overwhelmed." I said and I walked abruptly out of the tent, away from the village.

I sat down next to the little creek, staring into the distance. The only thing the eye could see was water and ice, the exact opposite from where I grew up. I pulled my collar up a bit more as I felt a breeze making its way passed my neck and I sat down on the cold ground. I took my gloves off and carefully blew warm breath into my hands.

I was sitting at the shore for several minutes until Sokka came up to me. "He is awake, Katara wants to introduce him to you and the rest." Sokka said drily and helped me up. As I turned around I saw a giant hairy thing in front of me.

"OOOH FFUUUUUU-" Pho- Pho- good Pho soup, how is that here?!" I asked and gasped while I pointed at the giant bison that was sleeping at the side of the village. "Thats his flying bison, Appa. It apparently flies when you say 'teep teep' or something, but so far, he didn't, so I don't believe a word of it." Sokka said determined.

I smiled brightly. "Air nomads did have flying bisons," I said excitedly, "the Air nomads learned Airbending from-"

"-Yeah I don't care, come on." Sokka interrupted and pulled me with him towards the group.

"Aang, these are the villagers... Villagers, this is Aang." Katara said. Aang bend friendly, and shocked the villagers looked at him. "Why are they looking at me like that...?" Aang asked, "is it my clothes?" He asked looking down.

"We haven't seen an Airbender in over 100 years. We thought they were all gone, until my grandson and granddaughter found you in an iceberg." Grandmother said.
"All gone?" Aang asked confused.
"Aang, this is my grandmother..." Katara said.

"You can call me gran gran, if you'd please." Katara's grandmother replied. Sokka grabbed Aang's stick. "What is this? A weapon? Can you sting someone with it?" Sokka asked. "No, it's not to sting people!" Aang said when he grabbed it out of Sokka's hands, it's too fly and airbend with it."
"As long as I know... PEOPLE DON'T FLY!!!" Sokka said out loud and Katara elbowed him. "Oh no?" Aang asked, "watch this!"

Aang made a movement and out of the stick, there came a few sails, that looked like wings. Sokka looked terrified took a step back. When Aang jumped in the air, he held the stick with it's wings and he flew up in the air. As I watched the boy flying through the air I couldn't help but smile a bit. It was amazing. Imagine how that felt, how much freedom he'd have. It must feel amazing, up there.
