The sound of bubbles echoes through the dark space, playing at Irillium's ear. There's nothing, and she finds herself consumed by an unbearable emptiness.

*Hello?!* She attempts to say, but no sound comes out, only bubbles. Suddenly she finds herself in a small room, lit only by a red candle in the corner. *Where is this place? Why does it look so familiar...* She thinks to herself.

"HELP! LET ME OUT! PLEASE!" A child's scream pierces the silence.

"Who's there?!" Irillium says cautiously. She turns to see that there's now a door where there was a blank wall just seconds ago. *What is going on?* She thinks.

She slowly walks towards the old door, an ominous feeling growing inside her with each step. Something on the other side of the door frantically bangs against it. "PLEASE MASTER! I PROMISE I'LL BE GOOD! P-please... I promise..." The child shouts out once more, but their screaming subsides into crying.

Their cries sound helpless and alone. *Wh-what is this... Why does it feel so familiar...* Irillium thinks. She's unable to move an inch further, as if there's a force stopping her from opening the door.

She can feel the pace of her heart speeding up, and her pulse twitching in her veins. A discomfort spreads through her throat and stomach, and tears begin to well in her eyes. She loses her breath and finds herself suffocating.

...

Irillium's eyes shoot open and she quickly lifts her head out from under the water. The water splashes out of the bath as she struggles to breath, coughing and gasping.

"Fuck." She says as she steadies her breath. *What was that dream...* She thinks. She raises her hands and sees them shaking. "Adrenaline..." She says.

After a moment in thought she leans back and covers her face with her hands while letting out a deep sigh. "It's them... They're back." She says.

...

Irillium hears the front door opening downstairs. "It seems that my dad is here." She says, getting up from her bed.

"What do you intend to tell him exactly?" Yosen says apprehensively.

"Nothing. I'll just tell him that you're my familiar." She says. Yosen raises a brow.

"My dear, aren't you forgetting something? You don't have any magical abilities." He says.

"And?" Irillium says dismissively while looking at the door she's walking towards.

"Well unless I'm mistaken, one can only summon a familiar with magic. Do you really think your father is going to beleive that?" He says.

"Just shut up and follow my lead. Also you might want to change back into your other form." She says firmly. Yosen sighs.

"You're lucky I'm unable to access my true form..." He mumbled under his breath. A light envelopes him as it did before, and when it fades, he's a small dragon-like creature again.

"Now come." Irillium says, signalling for him to come sit on her shoulder. Yosen climbs up her leg and over her back to perch himself on her shoulder. *Augh...* Irillium thinks to herself, startled by the ticklish feeling of his claws pattering up her back.

Yosen wears a face of utter disgust. *This is too humiliating for even words to describe. I've conquered entire lands, split mountains, ushered in new eras, yet now I have to perch myself on the shoulder of a mortal girl with no magic like a pet.* He thinks to himself.

Irillium makes her way down the hallway and stops at the stairs. *Lucith?* She thinks, hearing a familiar voice.

"I'm glad you've returned safely Lucith. We've all been quite worried about you, including Maya." Says Victor, Irillium's father.

Irillium walks down the stairs and stands behind the wall by the lounge. "There was no need to worry father. The Royal Knights of Kreeth are more than capable of handling minor expeditions.
Though speaking of Maya, where is she?" Says Lucith.

"Maya? She's still at school. I'm sure shell be surprised to see you home." Says Victor. Irillium shuffles back to go up the stairs again.

*I don't feel like getting involved right now. Lucith isn't exactly easy to get along with. I'll just greet father later.* She thinks.

"Why are you at home?" Irillium hears a voice behind her and almost jumps from shock. She turns around after balancing herself and meets with Victor's questioning face.

"Oh, hello father. I wasn't feeling well so I came home early. I got approval from Galvin." She says.

"Are you alright? Why didn't you come to greet us? You're brother has just arrived home from his expedition." Says Victor.

"Im alright father, I just need to rest. Anyways I didn't want to disturb you since you haven't seen each other for a long while." She says. Victor's eyes narrow onto a spot on her shoulder. Irillium takes notice.

*Shit, I forgot about Yosen.* She thinks as she attempts to maneuver her body to hide him.

"What is that..." Victor says suspiciously.
