Chapter Eight
It's been approximately twelve hours, fifteen minutes and thirty seconds since my sister Amy basically told me she and her husband, the boy I'm obsessed with, aren't as lovey dovey as we all thought.
Great.
What have I done since then you ask? I've slept. I know, fascinating but honestly it's all too much to think about.
I mean if there was even the possibility of Teddy and Amy separating... I couldn't... Nope. I can't go there. It's... gross.
Then again... the boy did propose to me first and then run off with my younger sister so would it be so terrible? Ugh.
This is why I sleep instead.
It's all so complicated.
I rummaged around under my pillow, pulling out my journal to write as one does when one's mind is all over the place. As I pulled out my journal a sheet of parchment slipped out onto the floor.
Huh. I didn't usually have any loose paper.
I rolled over to the side the piece of parchment fell to and stretched my arm out in an attempt to reach it without having to physically leave my bed. Honestly, my laziness knows no bounds.
I snatched up the sheet and glanced at it.
My eyes widened at the realisation of what it was. Christ, I forgot this existed.
My letter. The letter. For Teddy.
Welp I need to get rid of that. ASAP.
Before I could start tearing up my undisclosed love letter that I wrote before I found out my rejected suitor had eloped with my younger sister (oops did I say that out loud), there was a slight knock on my bedroom door.
Jeez I can't a break take a break around here.
"Yes?" I groaned, falling back onto my bed.
"Aunt Joey it's me, can I come in?" Josie whispered through the keyhole.
I chuckled to myself lightly, man was she cute.
"Yeah sure come in sweetie," I sat up, pushing my letter to the side of the bed while welcoming my little niece into my arms.
"What's up sweetcheeks?" I peered down adoringly, curling one of her ringlets around my forefinger.
"Oh nothing," she shrugged. "I just missed you is all," she said sweetly. Yet, I could detect some mischief behind her gaze.
I narrowed my eyes at her, "Are you sure about that? You and your siblings aren't up to something are you?" I challenged.
She returned my harsh gaze, mocking it slightly. "No of course not but Mama and Grand-Marmee are making breakfast so you should come down before it gets cold."
Hmm seemed suspicious but, " Ok... you had me at breakfast," I said suddenly energetic. In haste, I jumped off the bed and made my way to the door when I realised the little devil wasn't following me.
"Aren't you coming?" I asked, peering down her sitting rather comfortably in my place of rest and utter bliss.
"I've already eaten... Can I sit in your room for a little while? It's nice and quiet here. Demi and Daisy are so annoying," she moaned as she stretched out onto my bed.
I mean I couldn't blame her for wanting a bit of piece and quiet.
"Yeah that's fine, just shut the door on your way out," I smiled while making my way out of the door towards the feast waiting before me below.
As a child my family's menu consisted of two choices: take it or leave it. Can you guess which choice I made?
However, just as I hit the landing I could've sworn I heard a little giggle coming from my room.
Weird.

A/N: This is super short, sorry about that. I'm thinking of spicing things up next chapter so keep a look out for that! You could say the view looks very unladylike. Do with that as you will. Hehe.
If you haven't heard about the Yemen humanitarian crisis I'd urge you to have a read. It's always good to expand your knowledge on issues going on all around us.
But then again it's always nice to escape too so I hope I'm helping some of you with that even if it's for a few moments.
As always, stay safe. BLM.

RomanceMaybe I am being too harsh but it's better to be angry at someone than to pine after them. Especially as the man in question is so blatantly unavailable, it's too agonising to endure. ________________________________________ What if Laurie read Jo's...
