Beach Day

Today Alex, Hank, Sean, Charles and I had gone down to the beach to take a break from all the stress of staring up the school again. It was rare for me to leave the mansion for any reason so I was a little nervous to be surrounded by so many people.

We finally arrived and got everything out of the Jeep and began our walk towards the water. Hank helped Charles maneuver around the sand and into a spot under the giant umbrella we had brought. I was very happy to see that Charles had come, although it took a lot of convincing, even if he was handicapped didn't mean that he had to stay all day in the mansion and not live a normal life. If I could get out and have fun then so could he.

“Whoa, this is the ocean?” I asked in amazement.

It was so vast, it seemed to go on forever, even though I had seen it while in Cuba I didn't really get a chance to appreciate it with the whole having to fight Shaw thing going on.

I was in a long light blue maxi dress, with a black bathing suit on underneath and a big flappy sun hat to shield me form the suns hurtful rays. I closed my eyes as I felt the cool summer breeze hit my exposed skin.

“You might want to put on some sun screen before you get a sunburn” Alex warned me, handing me a bottle of sun screen.

“That sounds like a smart idea” I smiled back.

Alex and Sean had gone to swim in the water, and Hank was currently reading a book under the shade of the umbrella. I meanwhile was seated on the sand next to Charles, working on a sand caste. I had taken my dress off and was left with my bathing suit and hat as I worked tediously on my castle.

“It might be easier for it to keep it’s shape if you add a bit of water to the sand” Charles told me. “Theres a bucket over there if you want to use it, you can maybe find some shells down there while your at it to decorate it.”

“I think I’ll do that, thank you” I smiled back, grabbing hold of the bucket before heading down towards the water.

As I looked around for some shells I heard the faint sound of feet hitting sand before I was picked up and carried closer towards the water.

“Sean! Put me down this instant!” I yelled at him.

“I will, as soon as we’re in the water” he said back.

My eyes went wide in worry as we got closer and closer towards the water, I started to struggle against his grip but to no avail.

“Sean, no wait I can’t-”

My hat went flying in the air as I was thrown into the cold ocean water. My arms and legs began to kick at the water trying to find solid ground but couldn’t.

I then felt two strong arms circle around me and pull me up towards the surface.

I took in a big breath of air as soon as my head resurfaced. Once I recovered my breath I turned and faced the one who had thrown me in, glared holes into his face.

“Sean you idiot I can’t swim!” I yelled.

He seemed unfazed as he continued laughing.

“You should have seen your face” He said between breaths.

I splashed water at him in annoyance before turning to look at my savior.

Low and behold, holding me afloat was non other than Alex.

“I suppose you were in on this too weren’t you” I said poking him in the chest. The water only reached him to his shoulders, while I couldn't even reach the ground without having the water cover me completely.

“Come on it was just a bit of fun, besides I was here to save you” he winked at me.

“I don’t need your help, thank you very much” I said with a huff.

“Ok then” was his only response before he let me go.

I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck, holding on for dear life receiving a deep and hearty laugh from Alex in return.

“I hate you”

“You know you love me” he said kissing my nose.

Damn him and his charming ways.

"Come on, hold on tight" he said turning me so that I was on his back.

I felt like a monkey with my arms around his neck and legs around his waist as he trudged through the water going out more into the water.

"Have fun you two, but not too much fun" Sean shouted at us with a wink.

I turned and stuck my tongue out at him in responce.

"No promises" Alex shouted back earning a smack to the back from me.

After a couple of minutes of smimmimg we finally came to a stop.

"What are we doing out here?"

"You looked a little uncomfortable being around so many people so I thought it'd be nice to be alone for a bit." He told me nonchalantly.

I could feel a blush rising on my cheeks at his response. Even after so many years he still has this effect on me.

"You're too good for me" I whispered hiding my face into his neck.

"You know I was thinking the same thing" he said, suddenly turning me back around.

"Lets teach you to swim"

Oh god this should be fun.

"Don't make that face. Come on it's easy, like riding a bike"

"Ha! Except I cant do that either."

"Here just grab my hands and let your body float in the water"

"Fine, but after this you have to help me with my sand castle you guys took me from"

"Deal"

Today is going to be a long day, and I couldn't be happier for it.
