It's currently Wednesday afternoon and I'm sitting in my favorite class of the day. Even though the class is full and i'm supposed to be doing work right now, I find myself continuously looking up at him. Mr.Gardner as always had his hair perfectly styled. Slight imprints from his fingers running through his hair catching my attention. He wore a fresh white button down and a black tie. Not only was he wearing a fresh new shirt, he wore what looked to be a new pair of pants. They were a very dark grey color and fit snug. One thing that stayed was his typical belt. I wonder if this is because of me- I mean... I occasionally dress up for him, I wonder if he'd do the same for me. After our little thing yesterday... I wouldn't be surprised if he were feeling more confident. Or something in that matter-
When I asked him about giving us a chance, he hadn't given me a verbal answer. Kinda not clearing things up. Instead he had smiled and pulled me into what could've turned into something more if we weren't making out as the class sat a wall apart. I wasn't asking for a relationship at that point, I was more like asking if we could try us out for a bit. Keep sneaking around and try not to get caught. If someone becomes suspicious, we'll just put an end to it. I would like to ask if he's aware that that's what I mean't, but he hasn't been one to be clear on the situation. He was constantly changing his mind and having an overall anxiety if we should or should not be. I don't blame him though- I'm just happy that he's also willing to keep going with whatever this is. Maybe over time, when I grad from the school we could be something more.
"Okay everyone, you can pack your things and be free for the day."
Everyone stopped writing and looked up to Mr.Gardner. He stood from his seat and shined a smile while he shook his hands a bit that were in his pant pockets. People were slow at first and confused, but still began to pack up their work spaces. I grabbed my phone from my back pocket to check the time. We still had a good 15 minutes left of class. Why is he dismissing us early?
The classroom slowly began to empty. A couple students had already zoomed out, taking the chance to leave early as a blessing, while some still hesitantly grabbed their belongings. I grabbed the few notes I had at my desk and placed them into my bag. I tried to be a little slower then needed so the last people would beat me out the door and leave me with him.
Mr. Gardner slowly stepped along the stretch off class that lead to my desk. He was looking at the writing on the boards, but I could tell he was only doing so as a distraction until the last student left.
"Have a good afternoon Mr.Gardner"
At the sound of his name, he turned his head to a student just leaving. An over dramatic smile stretched onto his lips as he took a hand out of his pocket and gave a weak wave. He obviously wasn't expecting a goodbye from anyone and it showed. The awkward interaction had me chuckle a bit. The student hadn't seemed to care as they closed the door immediately. Mr.Gardner still had his body turned toward the door but looked over to me. When he saw I was laughing at him, he smirked and looked down at his feet.
"Are you laughing at me Ms.Hill?"
I continued to hold in a little giggle here and their as he began to approach my desk.
"Not at all." This being a complete lie. Considering the fact that I choked on my laugh as I tried to speak.
He took a couple more steps forward until he had reach the desk ahead of me. He reached his right hand up and tapped his fingers a couple times on the desks surface. Clearing his throat, he looked at me.
