"I have to see if it passes the dance test."

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. He didn't think I had a clue with what to do, did he?

My hand weakly held onto his as I waited to see what he'd do, his foot coming between mine briefly so he could push them to the correct spot. Once done, he looked up with a cute smirk and took in a deeper breath.

He saw right through me and knew I had no experience with this and it had to be obvious that I was slightly nervous. My eyes down to my feet that he just fixed, an embarrassed flush on my skin from the simple action.

"You ready?"

Gaining my attention, I looked back up to his eyes and saw the fond look he wore. Those dance lessons he put himself through in the early years definitely coming in handy for when he wanted to show off.

I nodded my head slowly and swallowed thickly as I tried not to concentrate on the clamminess of my palm. His fingers wrapped around mine were about as far as my mind was going.

Without warning, he took a step back and brought my arms forward. My left foot stuttering forward as I didn't know what to do. He let out a little breathy laugh and took a side step, only to correct me this time and have his hand on my hip to guide me.

When he stepped forward to have me follow through, my footing got in the way of his and he had to stop himself before he'd topple over me. The both of us laughing, me more so embarrassed.

"Am I making you nervous?" He asked but with a full understanding that he was.

I swallowed down the flutter in my lungs and forced a quick smile.

"It's not you, it's the fact that I've never been in this situation before..."

He chuckled immediately at my response and moved closer so we were practically touching. My breathing pattern instantly changing when I felt his hand move to my lower back.

"Well then, let me go slower..."

He looked down to my footing again and proceeded to instruct me.

"On the count of three, move your right foot forward with mine, then follow through with your left..."

I nodded to show I understood and he kept looking down as he quietly counted down. On the count of three, he took a step back and I found myself following forward with more of a smooth stride, almost forgetting to bring my left foot along but catching myself immediately and bringing it next to my right.

"Now to my left..." Taking a step to the side, he tightened his hold on my back and watched me follow along much better than the first.

When he stepped forward without instruction and I stepped back instantly, slowly getting the grasp of the motion, he laughed and looked up with a proud smile.

"You're a quick learner..."

I laughed at his answer and looked to our hands that were entwined with each other.

"You should know that by now Mr. Gardner..."

His hold around my fingers tightened and his hand on my back brought me closer. His head bowing down as he tried to hide his reaction. I smiled and watched him look over his shoulder, a small smile on his lips as he spoke toward Donni.
