After a long day at the office I was drained.

I was ready too see my baby, I closed my trunk as I unlocked my door and got in my car.

I buckled up and put the key in the ignition as I backed out and put the car in drive as I made my way downtown.

"Okay now folks we have a track out that's driving the ladies crazy.Caller what's your name?"

"Tanya,the girl said as she laughed."

"Tanya what song you want to be played on the radio baby?"

"Stereotype by Chris Brown,the girl named Tanya said.  "

"And what station you tuned in to baby ,the radio man they called Dee-Moe said. "

"Z105.3 baby,Tanya said as the track started playing. "

Chris sounded good. People in the hood say it's about my girl Karrueche but I was glad she left his ass.

Always disrespecting her,I wish August would call himself disrespecting me.

Kae went to Los Angeles tryna pursue a damn model career but word in the streets is that shit ain't  doing too good. But that's none of my business.

I haven't seen Dezmon since graduation , but I heard he was a Policeman who has his eye on Aug.

I hear a lot of things, I said laughing to myself.

I didn't even pay attention to the  radio realizing the song was done.

I pulled up in my driveway, as I cut my car off as I took the keys out and grabbed my purse .

I unlocked my door as I walked in.

Baby ! I said putting my keys and purse on the table.

I checked all the rooms looking for him.

I went to his man cave as he sat there with his head down with an AK-40 in front of him.

....August , I said walking slowly over to him.

The person I looked at wasn't my August.The person that looked back at me with bloodshot eyes was beyond off the rails and ready to do some damage.

He grabbed my waist, as he wrapped his arms around it.

"They killed em", August said finally speaking up his voice raspy.

Who? Baby who killed who?

"That Nigga they call Andre and his posse killed my fucking brother Ma,"he said gripping my waist as tears came out his eyes.

Over the past 4 years I've known August I never saw him cry so this was a first for me.

I listened , I guess it was a bad time to tell him about Michael.

He wiped his tears.

"Imma kill him," he said his accent strong.

I sat in his lap.

Don't talk like that, I said looking at him.

"I got a couple homies that's gonna come help me cause Mel meant everything ta me ta erbody in da hood. " , August said filling the gun up with bullets.

I kissed his cheek as I rubbed it in with my thumb.

I never met Mel but what August told me Mel was a person he relied on the most, he was like some hero that August looked up too.

Imma tell you what, I said as he looked at me.

You do what you gotta do , I know your sad right now but baby behind every gray cloud is a sun that's gonna shine over you and make you stronger.

He looked at me as he smiled .

"Thanks Ma," I needed that.

"Not a lot of women would understand that ,"August said staring at me.

I'm always here for you August. I'm here to save you like me and them girls we ain't the same.

He laughed.

"Yeah you right,  nobody but you",he said.

A smirk came on his face.

I got off his lap as he grabbed the gun,he walked out as I followed.

"Where you going,"he asked stopping in his tracks.

With you, I said.

"Nah ma you gotta stay here where it's safe at",he said as I shook my head.

I feel safe with you !

"Why you being so close ta me today

anything happened at yo job,"he asked as I stayed quiet.

I sighed.

Come on talk ta me, he said rubbing my hair.

He. ..I swallowed.

He tried to make me have sex with him August, I said wiping the tears that fell.

"Who ", he asked raising his voice.

Silence.

"Onika!Who,"he said sternly.

My boss,I yelled.

August threw his head back as he rubbed his face.

"And Whatchu did, did you try ta get da hell outta dea ", he asked.

I tried but he was gonna fire me and you no we need the money .

"I don't care ma don't ever put yaself in the position to feel like you gotta do some fa a couple dollas ", he said wiping my tears.

He looked at me trying to read my thoughts.

"I'm not mad at cha,but that nigga gonna catch some pra'lems cause I'm not letting it slide",August said calming his voice.

I know.

"And ya not gonna go with me and da boys ,I'll neva fa give myself if anything happened ta ya,"he said as I nodded.
