-Norman Bates, Psycho

When you image a serial killer what do you see?

Jason?

Freddy?

Maybe someone who was a real person.

The Zodiac Killer?

Ted Bundy?

John Wayne Gacy?

You watch these movies and read about all the horrifying gruesome murders and you ask yourself how/why would these men do this to innocent lives. Star craved those answers so badly that she worked day and night to grow her mind into understand these men and women. It scared her parents that this was what she wanted to study. Of course they were happy to have a doctor for a daughter but not this type of doctor.

Spending endless hours studying the violent and heartless minds of humanity. Years of late nights, coffee, and black outs of no sleep for weeks. Star would begin her new chapter with her first patient: Dennis. He is diagnosed with  Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), or Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD). A relatively basic disorder with complications to the patients social activities.

Once Jeremy led Star into the asylum, he gave a tour of the castle. Showing her the library, cafeteria, and the interview rooms where Star would begin her career. Each hallway was a copy and paste of beige walls and floors, white and yellow lights illumining in every room, the faint sounds of men crying and screaming. It made her skin crawl but her mind excited.

"So tell me Miss. Swan what made you want to come all the way up here?" He purred with a smile that did not reach his eyes.

"It's Dr. Swan and I came here because I want to help people." Star stated again.

Both people have stopped walking and stood in front of each in the center of the residential hallway.  Jeremy had taken his hands out of his pocket and replaced them to his hips. The air condition humming softly. A chill of cold air crawled down her back.

"Help people? I'm sorry to say but most of these men are far beyond help," He moved closer to Star almost on top of her," so why are you really here?"

She had to take a step back but he only moved closer to her.
"I believe these men need someone to talk to. Another human to remind them that they are not all evil."

Jeremy had backed up to the wall where he stood toe to toe with her. The brown box keeping as much of him away from her body. She could smell the early morning whiskey mixed with his cologne. Any person could drown in that stench.

"A little advice sweetheart all these men are evil. We provide the best service to these people and nothing has made them close to being human again.  I know why you are here but remember it's the guys not in straight jackets that are here to protect you."  He took a step back straightening his tie and pushing his hair out of his blue eyes. He separated himself from her smaller frame leading on to her first appointment.

She had to compose herself by smoothing out her red blouse under her white coat. The tiny voice in her head made a loud argument to stay as far away as possible from Mr. Blaire. Even though he might be her boss now that would not be for forever. This is only the beginning of her future.

They made it to Interview Room 23 with a large one-way window on one wall and three stone gray walls. A steel table between two plastic white chairs. A single yellow light flickering above them.

"I will be on the other side of that wall in case of anything." He let in a pause between the end of his words before walking back out of the room. He stood in the center of the window watching her move around the room. Watching her pale pink nails pluck her files out of the box and on to the table. She set her camera up behind her to film what little of a conversation she would get out of Dennis.

Jer took into his own head thinking about why Murkoff would send a brunette beauty into this corner of Hell. Out every doctor in the whole god damn world; why would they send her here! A woman who probably never had bad thing happen to her. She looked too innocent, too pure to be working here.

"She won't last a day in here without me." He said to no one. Trager had yet to come in with the crazy idiot and it was leading him to the one corner of his fantasy that has kept him from turning into the Variants.

He set his hands back into his front pockets imaging what her skin would feel like hot and sticky. To watch her dark eyes roll back and ruby lips open wide just for him. Oh what a world, a cruel world to live in with her only ten steps away. A wall dividing his pleasure from him.

Star had sat down holding pen in one hand and an audio recorder in the other. The pen moving up and down with her lips only inches away from the metal device. Her lips moving but no sound coming out. A perfect cupid arrow bouncing on her top lip as she unconsciously unwrapped her bun and fixed the loose strains of hair that fell out. The caramel waves flowing down passed her back and thrown back up into the tight compact knot.

Oh what a cruel, evil world to live in for Mr. Jeremy Blaire.
