That sound. That horrifying, blood-curling sound. Waylon had mirrored expression of fear to Star as if that sound was right above them. Waylon shimmed out from under the table and pulled Star along with him. As they straighten themselves up, they could see a man's brains blow up in a microwave. His blood and shredded organs spraying all over the unsuspecting couple. A Variant was tearing apart a former Murkoff employee with his bare teeth and hands. His hair all stringy and dirty while bathed in blood. All the remaining blood and body parts scattered around as if a loin was creating his den. Human organs and tissue as kitchen decor.

"We need to go.Now." Waylon dragged Star out of the live horror show and ran out of the cafeteria. They held onto each other's hands running as far as they could from the cannibal. The echoes of the buzz saw crying out to the pair.

"MY MEAT!"

"Waylon what happened to you?" Star whispered/screamed to the petrified man. She could see the wild fear in his frozen face. His mouth open breathing heavily as he ran. His other hand gripping on a camera in front of him. He looked over his shoulders and squeezed them inside an office desk with an overturned mattress to block any other inmate from finding them. Star folded her legs up allowing the male to touch knees with her. He placed his camcorder in-between the wooden table and the dirty mattress.

"Blair discovered I was about to sink this sh*t hole and put me in this in this box! And I I was strap strapped down and forced to to see these these.." Waylon couldn't finish his speech. He covered his face with his hands dry sobbing. Star was able to put two and two together. She took his  hands curling her fingers with his.

"Waylon I get it. You were trying to do the right thing. I'm so so sorry."

"It's it's not your fault. I dug this hole. I just didn't want anyone getting hurt." Waylon had calmed his speech and focused on how small Star's hand was compared to his. Her blue nail polish chipped and broken with blood coating underneath but still beautiful. Even with all the horror around him, he was still holding onto the most precious thing in his whole world.

"I know. I understand. You could have told me sooner. I would have helped you."

"Why? You could have suffered the same exact same thing as me." His grip on her fingers tighten as if she was going to disappear. He never wants an evil thing to happen to her. She deserves so much more.

"A doctor backing up all your claims with hard evidence. All my work was downloaded onto an email file to my computer at my house. If we can get out of here, find Miles, and expose this place for all its worth together!" Star pressed herself closer to Waylon with her hot  breath fanning over his lips. They sounded just as crazy as everyone else in this place. But it would be perfect. Except for this Miles guy.

"I have to ask; who's Miles?" Waylon could feel the pit of jealousy in his stomach.

"He's a reporter. I found him at the front entrance after being thrown from a window by Chris." Star thought back to her time with the solider. He was caring and made her feel safe but that was not how she wanted to live. She had a family and people who loved her. As much as she wants her patients to get better; she has to let them go.

Oh shh-

The buzzing started up again. They froze listening to the rants of the cannibal hunting his meat. Star and Waylon pulling into each other as much as they already could while molding to the furniture. They both understood that they had to run. But with the hunter searching from the prey; how could they?

In soft words and silent looks, they formed a plan to escape as soon as he was gone. Star could only guess that the cannibal had become devolved and is now full animal. He will hunt until all the prey are gone or a larger predator takes him down. Hopefully, Star and Waylon can be smarter.
