The ocean

The oceans waves lap against the shore.
The tides pull back and forth
Always in constant flux.
Deep do its waters flow,
Pushing far into the earth
Where ominous creatures live,
Flashing their bright lights.

And our ancestors have told us tales
Of this unforgiving force
This mass of destruction
That is teeming with life
That helps us survive.

The ocean weaves our souls into her heart
Because although she is chaos
She is also peace.
