Catching Kira

"So, what was your reason for going along with Misa Amane's plan?" L seemed put up with me, and I did not blame him. What I did was risky, but more risky than Misa was being in letting me be a part of what she was doing.

Misa was Currently locked on our floor, all electric other than lights being cut off, and her phone, laptop, and tablet being taken away from her. To seal the deal, she was handcuffed to Mogi, who was there with her.  

L claimed he needed to talk to me about being teamed up with Misa in what she had done, and I knew why. I was reckless, in his eyes, and I guess you could say that I was. I definitely did things just as risky as the things he did to win the case. The thing was, he had the name to do those kinds of things, and I didn't have a name at all. 

"You knew right away that what I did was with a motive and plan, didn't you?" L stayed silent as I stared him in his deep eyes. They were calculating, and his thumb rested on his slightly parted lips as he tried to figure me out. 

"You recorded their whole conversation," He said after a minute, and I did not even need to respond. "Let me hear it," L leaned forward, since he was sitting across from me, and watched carefully as I took my phone from my back pocket, scrolling through my small gallery to get to what I needed. We listened in silence as I looked at his face, confusion and analysis swirling in his eyes, and his expression contorting slightly as he took in everything the two were saying.

"Misa tried to slip away without either Mogi or I noticing, but I caught her and decided it was her best bet to try to get me in on her plan. She didn't say much, and thought I was going to forbid her from going, but really, her plan was quite good for someone so ditsy. Thing is, it was more dangerous for her than me, so what did I have to lose?" I leaned back, resting my head in my hands as I placed them behind my head, a slight smirk apparent on my face. "Anyway, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to see if Misa was actually the second Kira, and I'd say that I got something here. That man did, in fact, die. But, she does not have the powers of the second Kira. At least, not right now,"

"Why would you say that?" L chewed on his thumb as he stared at my face, and I could tell that he did think that Misa was the second Kira, specially with the information I had given him, so he was interested in why I thought she was not.

"It is a fact that Light is not Kira at this moment, and I have a hard time believing that Light would let Misa be the second Kira, while he was not Kira. Even if he gave her instructions, he would not trust her with that. It is obvious that he does not trust Misa, at least with things that require a brain,"

"How did Misa kill that man?"

"Misa has someone else on her side,"

"Someone like the new second Kira?"

"No," I shifted forward, resting my elbows on my knees and clasping my hands together. "When Misa was in for questioning, I mentioned that there might be the existence of someone we cannot see or hear, I think that someone is who Killed that man. The second Kira once mentioned Shinigami to the first Kira during a broadcast...,"

"You can't seriously believe that those exist," L looked at me like I was stupid, but I rolled my eyes at him.

"What else am I supposed to believe? There is some invisible force that moved Misa's hair during the interrogation, Misa was able to kill someone even though she does not have Kira's power, and the power can transfer from person to person at will. What other than a god of death to give people the power to kill someone with only a name and face? I'd say it's a pretty good explanation, and that's coming from someone who previously believed in no god or higher force than nature and science itself," I began to spin my chair around slowly, staring at the ceiling as I did. "I'd rather no god exist, trust me. That idea goes against everything I previously believed in, and I hate to be wrong," After a moment of silence, L stopped my chair and sighed.
