After a while of bantering more with Jake it was time for me to head back out down to the waters edge. I was located by myself just to the side of the middle set of flags. I had a megaphone in one hand and my eyes scanned the water for potential danger. I tried my best to direct swimmers out of danger. I got instructed over the radio to go out to three swimmers who where in trouble just outside of the flags. I stripped down, grabbed my board and began paddling out. Shortly after paddling out, the situation quickly escalated. I had realised that one of the swimmers was unconscious and that the other two swimmers with him had gone to his aid and where trying to bring him back into shore. I gave the three pumps of the chain to indicate that the situation was much worse than we all had expected and that help was needed asap. I was still only in my first month of lifeguarding and hadn't been exposed to a situation this bad yet. I knew it would happen but I didn't realise how soon it would happen. I used the board rolling technique to get the patient onto the board and into shore as quickly as I could. It felt like a lifetime had passed by the time I got the patient into shore when in reality it had only been just over a minute.

Once we reached the shore, Jake had run down from the tower with the defib and max and beardy had joined us down from the quiet north end as nothing was happening and we needed help. We checked for a pulse on the man but there was none do we began chest compressions. We each took it inturn to complete 30 chest compressions until finally a pulse was found. By this time, the ambo was here so we handed the man over knowing we had given him the best chance for survival. Jake could see the concern on my face and came over to me hugging me and giving me a light kiss on the head. I felt so safe in his arms. He told me how Harrison was going out with a few mates so he'd be free if I wanted to do something with him. I decided to invite him over to my place and we could make dinner together. I found things like this more romantic than going out for dinner and he seemed to like the idea too. After a brief conversation with Jake, one of the Bondi rescue film crew came up to me, asking me to do an interview about the events that had just gone down. Max, beardy and Jake were also taken to have interviews as they had also been there when the incident happened, all their interviews were before mine. When I was say down doing my interview the crew had shown me the others interviews as they had all spoken about me. Beardy said in his interview "yeah Lu was incredible, if I was a little 17 year old trainee faced with this in my first month, I would probably need about a weeks rest to recover from the confrontation of dealing with a dead body for a period of time". "I admire Lu's strength, it must've been difficult for her, especially as she was brought the body in alone" max said. Then they showed me what Jake had said "at this point there's nothing that Lu can't do, she's amazing, nothing scares her" he carried on speaking about how he admires me and how I'm one of the strongest people he has ever met. He really does like me, he hyped me up so much in that interview. I can't wait for our dinner date later and to get some more time to spend with Lu.

Beardy had let me finish my shift early as it was pretty traumatic. Whilst walking home all I could think about was whether the man I had just saved was going to survive or not. I reached my apartment and checked my phone to realise I had a message from Jake telling me that he couldn't wait for our dinner tonight. I out my phone down and hopped in the shower to freshen up from the saltiness and sand that I seemed to of accumulated throughout the day. I left my hair air-dry and grabbed a hoodie and some joggers. Jake and I had both agreed to wear comfy clothes tonight and we had both had busy day at work. After getting ready, I heard a knock at my door. I opened it to see Jake standing there in a red addidas originals top and some black shorts. He looked hot.

We spoke for ages whilst cooking dinner. We decided to make pizza as we both loved it. As I was rolling the dough out, I saw Jake move from the kitchen stool and walked around behind me, wrapping his arms around mine, helping roll it out. It was such an intimate moment and was the closest I had ever been to him. I loved it. He then spun me around so that I was in between his arms, looking up at him. He leaned down into a kiss. I took this offer and soon his soft lips were moving in sync with mine. For the first time in a while I felt safe and secure. Wow this boy was tugging on the strings of my heart and I was all for it.

The rest of the evening was spent cuddling and laughing but seeing as we both had work the next day, we had to end the night early. I had remembered what Jake had told me about how Harrison was out do offered if he wanted to spend the night with me. His face lit up as I asked this, I'd never seen him smile so much before. I loved it. Jake too of his shirt and climbed into my bed with just his undies on. I grabbed his shirt and put it. It was oversized on me which I loved. After walking out if the bathroom and into my bedroom, I could see Jake watching me smirking "looks good on you" he whispered in a low raspy voice. I wuitekt giggled before climbing into bed next to him. I layed my head in his chest after giving him a quick kiss. He wrapped his arms around me and softly kissed my lips as we both fell off to sleep. I could stay like this forever.
