My alarm went off at 5:30 am. I groaned and rubbed the sleep from my face as I rolled off the bed. I had 2 and a half hours to get ready, hopefully it was enough.
I pulled my hair up in layers, curling each one as I went. After and hour and a half my long mane was curled and instead of my locks falling past my butt, they fell just past the bottom of my back. I grabbed a few bobby pins and pinned it half up half down.
After that intense session of hairstyling I grabbed my make up and dusted a light pale shadow over my lid with a dark brown in the crease. I lined my lid and waterline before getting dressed. Luckily I finished with 30 minutes to spare.
I rushed to the kitchen deciding on cereal as Samuel came to mind. We had been doing kind of better the past few months. He was still pulling away, but at least he was back to his flirty self when we did talk. I tried not to make it obvious I knew about his dad, if he wanted to tell me he would and I didn't want to offend him by just blurting I knew things I shouldn't.
"How about I take you to breakfast before I take you to school?" My mom asked as she blew at the cup of coffee in her hands.
"Uuhhh, yeah sure. That sounds nice." I said with a smile putting the milk and cereal away.
"Well lets go." She said happily grabbing her keys off the counter. I headed to the living room and picked up my bag and oversized jacket before heading out the door behind her.
As soon as the cool morning air hit me, I new today was gonna be okay. Well that and because I saw a glowing Samuel looking in my direction. He still had the look of sleep written acoss his face, but even then he was still attractive. He wore sleep very well, put easily.
He nodded in my direction telling my mom good morning before continuing to the bus stop at the corner. I didn't notice I hadn't left the front steps until my mom gave me the 'well-we-don't-have-all-day' stare. I rushed down the steps to the open gate, once she had backed out of the gate I locked it close and headed to the car. I jumped in when she waved her eyebrows at me.
"Should we offer him a ride?" She teased as we headed in the direction of the taco house we went to for breakfast.
"No, besides the bus stop is in the opposite direction." I smirked causing her to laugh.
"Oh, come on, I can easily turn this car around, Mill." She teased causing my eyes to bulge.
"No!" I shouted.
"Geez, Milly I was joking." She laughed out as we headed in the same direction.
"I only say it cause then we'd waste too much gas." I eased trying to save myself.
"Uh-huh." She said smoothly a wide smile breaking onto her face. Lucky for me we dropped that conversation and a comfortable silence fell between us. Once we were in the taco house it was a diffent story though.
"So why didn't you let me give that boy a ride?" She asked after we finished ordering our food.
"No reason." I mumbled my cheeks flaming to a bright red.
"Don't lie to me, Milly." She said in a not so serious tone. Good thing one of us found humor in the situation.
"Fine, I like him,"I started looking at her slowly,"but I don't think he likes me back. Simple." I finished with a sarcastic wink.
"He might like you back. And plus he's cute, ask him out." My mom pushed smiling widely. This was the first time I told her about my interest (boy wise) so I could understand her excitement.
"What would dad think?" I asked. My parents agreed that I could start dating at 13, but they didn't want me with boys like Samuel, well at least I don't think they did. If it came down to it they'd let me date him because it made me happy, and my happiness was all that mattered to them.
