Visiting an old friend

"Hey kiddo, I have an idea" Rose said as she walked into her and James room. "What is it?" James said as he looked up from playing with his toy. "Let's go explore" Rose said with a smirk. "Really?!" James yelled in excitement. "Inside voice, James. And yes, let's go. We have a until tomorrow as free people" Rose joked. "Lets go!!" James said as he jumped up and ran into Roses arms. "Alright, monkey" Rose said as she picked James up and walked downstairs. "Where are you two going?" Steve asked as he got a glass of water. "We're going exploring!" James shouted with a smile as he threw his hands in the air. "Yeah, what he said" Rose said with a smile and a little laugh. "Well, have fun. I'll tell your father" Steve said with a smile. "Thanks Steve!" Rose said as she carried James out the door. Steve sighed, "those kids are crazy" He said with a smile as he took a sip of water.

"Alright, how do you work this thing again?" Rose asked herself as she rolled out her dads motorcycle. She got two helmets and give James one. "Remember how to use that?" Rose asked James. "Yea!" James said as he put his helmet on. "There we go" Rose said as she put her helmet on. She got on and put James in her lap. "Ready?" Rose asked James. "Ready" James said with a huge smile on his face. "Hold on!" Rose said as she started driving. James laughed, he was happy, really happy! And that made Rose happy. She'd do anything for her little brother, really, anything.

Steve looked out the window as they drove away. "What are they doing?!" Bucky said as he ran out. "According to James they're exploring" Steve said with a smile. "What?!" Bucky said as he turned to Steve, with a paranoid look in is eyes. "They really are your kids" Steve said as he took another sip of water. Bucky sighed and smiled.

"Tell me when to stop" Rose said as she drove through NewYork. "Stop!" James said as they apportioned a toy shop. "Wanna go in there?" Rose asked James. James nodded with a smile. "Alright, let's go in there" Rose said as she parked the motorcycle and took both their helmets off. "Come on" Rose said as she took James hand as the walked inside. James ran inside, dragging Rose along with him. "Slow down there, pal!" Rose said with a laugh as they got to the doors. Rose opened the door for the both of them. James ran inside with a huge smile. "Hey!" Rose said as she caught James hand. "We meet back here in 10 minutes, got in?" Rose said as she knelt down to match his height. James nodded. "Go ahead" Rose said as she let go of his hand. James ran off with a smile. Rose sat down on the chairs in the front. "Is that your little brother?" The cashier asked. She had to be in her early 20s with dark brown hair and blue eyes and a butterfly tattoo. " Yea" Rose said with a smile. "What's his name?" She asked. "James" Rose said as she looked at her. "I'm sorry, but what is your name? You just look so similar to my grandmas old friend from the 40s" She asked with a smile. "Oh, my name is Rose" Rose said with a smile. "You two have the same name too! Such a wild world, huh?" She said with a little laugh. "Oh yea" Rose said with a little laugh. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your grandmothers name?" Rose asked. "Ellie" She said with a smile, "I was named after her" She said, again,with a smile. "Ellie... I know someone named Ellie" Rose said as she looked down. "This world huh?" Ellie said with a little laugh, she seemed very peppy. "H-hey, do you mind telling me where she lives?" Rose asked as she looked up. "She died last year, why do you ask?" Ellie said. "Just wanted to see if she looks like the one I know" Rose joked, hiding the fact that she knew her grandmother. Ellie laughed as she looked at her watch, "wow, you should be calling your brother. It's been ten minutes". "Time goes by fast" Rose said as she stood up. "You can say that again" Ellie said with a smile. "It was nice talking to you, Ellie" Rose said with a smile and a nod as she walked to find her brother. "You too!" Ellie said, returning the smile.
"Can I buy this?" James said, holding up a figurine of a ninja. "After the mission we can ask Tony. I'm sure he has money" Rose said as she picked James up. "Ready to go?" Rose asked her brother. James nodded and yawned. Rose laughed a little and walked out. "Rose! Wait!" Ellie said as she jogged out to the two siblings. "I don't know why, but I have this feeling I have to tell you" Ellie said as she handed her a piece of paper. "Is everything alright?" Rose asked as she took the piece of paper. "Yes, Of course. I just felt like I needed to give this to you. It's where my grandmothers grave is" Ellie said with a anxious tone. "Hey, relax a little there, Ellie" Rose said with a sweet smile. "I know, just be safe. I have this strange feeling that we have some sort of connection, like sisters or something like family" Ellie said, again, in an anxious tone. "Thank you, Ellie" Rose said with a smile. "Feel free to come by anytime" Ellie said with a smile. "I have a feeling this guy would love to come by again" Rose said as she turned to James. "Can we buy the ninja toy?" James asked. "Next time, monkey" Rose said to her brother. "Well, I will hold onto that for you, buddy" Ellie said with a smile. "What do you say, James?" Rose asked James. "Thank you" James said quietly. "We'll come by some time this week" Rose said as she walked to their motorcycle. "Sounds good!" Ellie said as she walked inside. Rose put on James helmet then her own. Then she drove off with her brother. "Where are we going?" James asked. "We're visiting an old friend" Rose said as she continued to drive.
They finally got there after about 30 minutes. There they were, at the cemetery. Rose got off and picked James up. They both took off their helmets and walked over to the cemetery. After a couple of minutes they finally found her.

"Rose?" James asked his sister. "Yea?" Rose said as she looked at James. "Is that Ellie?" James asked. "Yea... that's her" Rose said as she looked down. "I'll be right back!" James said as he ran off. "Wait, What?!" Rose said as she turned to her brother, but he wasn't there. "James!" Rose said as she ran around, looking for her brother. After a while Rose walked back to Ellie's grave, to find James. Rose ran up to James. "What the hell were you thinking?!" Rose yelled with a shaky voice. "I brought her flowers" James said as he pointed to the freshly picked dandelions on her grave. "D-did you just pick those?" Rose asked as she knelt by her little brother. "Mhm" James said with a nod. "You're amazing, you know that?" Rose said as she turned to James with a smile. James nodded again. "We better get going. It's getting late" Rose said as she stood up. "Here" She said as she held her hand out for James to take. James held her hand as they walked back to the motorcycle.

"Where are they? It's almost dinner" Bucky said a he looked at his watch. "They're fine, don't worry" Steve said as he cooked dinner. "Hey, I have the right to worry. They're my kids" Bucky said as he turned to Steve. Steve laughed a little at his remark. Then finally, they heard the sound of a motorcycle pulling up into the driveway. Then the door opened revelling Rose carrying a sleeping James. "Where were you two?!" Bucky said as he walked up to Rose. "Well, we went to a toy shop, then we visited an old friend" Rose said with a smile. "Who?" Bucky asked. "Remember Ellie?" Rose asked. "She died last year" Bucky said. "I know" Rose said as she walked upstairs. "Wait!" Bucky said as he followed his daughter. "Why aren't you upset?" He asked. "I know she lived a full happy life. That's all I ever wanted for her..." Rose said as she put James in bed. "Didn't you have a cru-" Rose cut Bucky off, "Yes, but if you love someone sometimes you have to let them go" Rose said as she put her hands in her pockets. "You still like her don't you?" Bucky asked. "Of course I do. She was the love of my life... but she found someone and settled down. She even had a granddaughter, I just met her" Rose said as she looked up to reveal tears forming in her eyes. "Come here, flower" Bucky said as he walked over to his daughter and pulled her into a hug. Rose finally let herself cry. She missed her...
