Darby's POV.

I woke up to the sound of really loud music playing, Blink 182 I'm guessing, ringing at the back of my mind. I groaned into my pillow.

God dammit.

I could hear a guitar riff tuning loudly through the thin walls of my house, and I bet you a million dollars it was Luke. I sighed into my arm as I squirmed around in my bed. I looked across to my bedside table where my alarm clock sat.

7:10 AM.

I grunted, my eyes still laced with sleep as I moved up from the bed, stumbling over my feet. I made my way over to my chest of drawers, opening it and picking out a lime green sundress. Why was Luke always up so early on Sundays?

I yawned and shook my head as I dressed and brushed through my bed hair before tying it up into a loose pony tail.

The music got louder as I walked down the hallway, making my way into Luke's room. I covered my ears as I entered.

"Luke, turn it down!" I shouted over the music, walking over to the speakers and spinning the volume knob.

I looked up to see Luke and his best friend, Calum, chuckling and rolling their eyes at me.

Luke and Calum have been friends for as long as I can remember, they met at the beginning of high school, I think? Ever since then they've been almost inseparable, especially with their tastes and loves for music that draws them together.
Calum has a dark shade of brown hair, with a few blonde streaks at the front. He looks kind of Asian, you could say, but he's not.

"Hi, Darby," Calum clears his throat as he greets me, a smile plastered on his face.

"Hey, Cal." I nod towards him, acknowledging his presence.

I see his gaze trail down my body before he smiles up at me again and looks away, his cheeks pinking up slightly. I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion, before I hear Luke hitting him on the arm playfully. Luke's told me before that Calum likes me, but only now that he's checked me out do I actually consider the possibility.

"Shut up," Cal says to Luke, looking down at his feet and chuckling.

"Um," I cough, and they look up at me. "Luke, uh, can I get a drive to work?" I ask, fiddling with my thumbs.

"I'm not working today, so no, I'm going to do some stuff with Calum. I think we're going to record a new video. Sorry," he says, before Calum says something about their YouTube channel and I huff, exiting Luke's room in annoyance.

The joys of having a musically involved brother.

Shutting off the engine, I sighed and leaned back in my seat. Taking a deep breath, I opened the car door and walked inside the office of my work, taking my time as I read all the notices for the staff on the walls.

I let my boss know that I was there, and made my way to my desk and sat down, before switching on my telephone.

I fiddled with my fingers as I waited. About three minuets later, the telephone rang.

"Hello?" I spoke clearly.

"Hello," the voice spoke. I recognised it, but I just brushed it off as the voice began to speak again.

Monday morning. Ew. My eye lids flutter open as I pull myself awake and into the shower.

The warm water invites my body as I scrub shampoo and conditioner through my hair. I sigh softly as I go through the classes I have today in my head.
