Why doesn't this store has clothes my size?
To accommodate my chubby arms and thighs.
What is the purpose of these fairness treatments?
When we celebrate women of colour.
Why must I wear high heels?
Are heels represent the height of women's insecurities and vulnerability?
Why is the pain of high heels glamourized?
Why must I hide my scars and ageing with makeup?
Pummelled with the message that I am not good enough as I am.
We are told to look younger, sexier, taller, thinner, darker, lighter, smoother and just better.
Why can't there be a change in the psyche altogether?
Perhaps the obsession about female beauty is nothing but an obsession about female obedience.
You are told that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
But what you fail to realise is that YOU are the beholder.
After all, beauty is all about discernment.
Hence, lo and behold!
