See You Soon

Night was upon us. Adam had returned a couple hours ago with my rose petals. I made sure to thank him at dinner.

Adam doesn't know about my plan. He is completely clueless.

He only knows that I'm doing an offering spell. I usually tell him about every serious spell that I am doing so that if I do die, he can tell the police what happened.

It sounds morbid but it's what he has to do. That's why before every serious spell that I do, I give him a hug and kiss so that my final moments with him were good and not bad.

Like I said earlier, I don't have time to go out and make witch friends, I have practiced long enough to at least give it a try.

Yes, my life is on the line but the only person that I really need to say goodbye to is Adam. I guess you could say I lived a good enough life. I rather live but I have to do what I have to do.

Adam was on the couch drinking from one of his blood bags while watching TV when I came into the room. A smile escapes from his mouth as he places his drink down.

"Are you ready for your spell?" He asks me. I nod slowly.

"Everything is set up." I say quietly. It was hard to not tell Adam about what I was doing. I knew I shouldn't tell him too much but even if I did he wouldn't know because he doesn't do a lot of research about my spells.

But if I do die, he'll have to do something. He loves me and I love him but I rather him just carry on his life if I do die. Easier said than done of course.

Adam was always caring to me but sometimes he would get a little jealous and mad for no reason.

I used to think it was just a vampire thing but as I got to know him it was just the way he was. Being jealous isn't a good thing. When he does get jealous of some of my old boyfriends, he doesn't seem protective, he's just straight up annoying.

Then sometimes if he doesn't like the spell that I do, he gets mad. But I tell him that he's not the one doing the spell so he doesn't have a say in it. He gets even more mad when I do it anyway. Though, most of the time he gets over it.

That is partly why I don't wanna tell him all about this offering spell. He'll not only get mad but he'll also try to talk me out of it. I don't want him to do that because it won't work and he'll just end up wasting his time.

"Be careful, and focus, remember that." He says.

I place my hand over his face. "I'll be fine, I promise." I usually always keep my promises but this one I'm a little nervous to keep. I said I'll be fine but that doesn't mean I'll be alive. But sure, I'll be fine.

"Okay. I trust you. Just know that I love you." He says. I nod and hug him. "I love you too." I close my eyes and crash my lips into his. Tasting some of the blood he was drinking earlier. "I mean it." I say. He lets out a short laugh.

"I know you do," he says.

I pull away from him. "You'll see me soon."

Soon.

But I wonder when is soon?

"Okay. Good luck." I step away from him. "Thank you." I turn away and walk back into my room.

Before I close the door, I look at him one last time. He had sat back down and continued to drink from his blood bag.

I smile.

He looks so innocent. Like I had gone in my room to do any other spell. Like I'd come out of my room with a smile on my face and my present to completing the spell was to see Adam on the couch in the same position when I left him. But only this time a lot more stronger and happier.

If only he knew that this time would be different.

If only he knew that this time I wouldn't come out of my room with a smile on my face and greet him with a hug and a kiss.

If only he knew that this spell would kill me.
