Just For Today

It was a new day.

Each day that went by, we were closer to the deadline of 31 days.

We were down to 29 days. Even though we had more time, if we didn't find the spell and weapon soon, people might start to give up, and we don't need that right now.

I woke up to Delilah searching the room and running around. I slowly open my eyes. "Delilah what the hell are you doing?" I groan.

My voice was raspy from just waking up. My nose was also stuffy.

She turns to me. "Trying to find my black lipstick. Have you seen it?" I scowl. "Of course not I've been sleeping." Delilah rolls her eyes and runs out the doors while Drew comes back in smelling like shampoo.

"Morning sleepyhead," Drew peeks. I slump back down.

"Why is everyone up so early?" I ask, struggling to get up.

"Classes, duh."

I sigh. "Ugh, I totally forgot I have to sign those papers Jada gave me. Shit." He laughs at me. "It's not that big of a deal compared to the other stuff we have going on." I walk into the kitchen to find a glass.

"You're right but still it just adds to the stress."

We talked to each other like nothing had happened last night. I guess after all he really just loved me as a friend. I was fine with that. But was I really?

Maya soon walks in with Eli. "Anyone seen Ashley today?" She asks.

Drew and I shake our heads. "No but I did last night. We drank tea and talked." "Oooo, sounds nice." Maya says excited.

I smile and look over at Eli. "Can one of you stay at the dorm with me today while I fill out these dumb papers?" I show them the big stack of papers. "I can't have math today." Eli says. I roll my eyes. "Since when do vampires have math tests?" He looks at me with a grin. "Since ever. Get with the trend."

Maya adds, "I just so happen to have the same test so I have to leave. Now." Then she and Eli laugh and walk out. Leaving just Drew and I.

I sigh and turn to him. "You?"

"Hazel, I already missed a day. The limit is 3." I walk back over to the kitchen table and sit. "I don't really care."

He shoots me a look. "You don't care huh?" I shake my head. "Nope,"

We stare at each other for a while until he breaks out in laughter. "Fine little witch. I will but just for today. Got it?" I nod my head, excited. "Of course. You can help me fill these out."
