John, Elaine and Arlo exited Starrbucks and looked at the sunset.

"Woah, it's so pretty!" Elaine exclaimed, pressing her fingers together and smiling. John stared at her with a small blush. Arlo stared at John from behind, imagining Rei standing next to him. He gave a small smile.

"John, how about a match?" Arlo suddenly said, and John only smirked.

"Alright, but when you lose don't blame me." They all went to a more secluded location. When they were sure they could fight, they stopped and looked at each other, both activating their abilities. John waited for Arlo to make the first move, as he studied his aura.

Arlo observed John's behavior. From the looks of it, John had no idea what his ability was. That would work in his favor. However, he didn't know what John's ability was either. John decided to take a chance and rushed him, getting ready to throw a punch aimed for Arlo's jaw. Arlo didn't move, and instead activated his barrier as soon as John was close enough. When John's arm connected, he could feel it shatter as he screamed in pain. He pulled back for a second, holding his arm in pain. Arlo dropped the barrier and went to punch John, but was surprised when a black barrier appeared in front of him, doing the same thing to him.

Elaine was dumbfounded. She knew of Arlo's ability, but she didn't expect John to have the same one. What were the chances?

John smirked as Arlo instinctively backed up. Both of them knew they were gonna have to end this quickly. They both raised their hands. John's barrier encased Arlo, and Arlo's barrier encased John. Both began to shrink the barrier. John raised his shattered arm, as he winced in pain but managed to create a second barrier to keep Arlo from crushing him. Arlo was surprised when he felt his barrier suddenly stop, and no amount of pressure was making the barrier budge. Before he knew it, Arlo was on his knees kneeling in front of John.

"Looks like it's my win." Looking up, Arlo squinted and for a moment swore he saw Rei. Scoffing, he stood up and patted himself off. Elaine rushed over to him and began to heal his arm.

"You can copy abilities?"

"You figured it out huh? Most people think I have multiple abilities."

"I see."

"No wonder he was able to beat Seraphina."

"John, what's your level?" John thought for a minute.

"I don't remember. Last time I checked I was a 7, but that was two years ago. I'd say I'm at an 8.3 right now, but don't quote me on that." Elaine looked at John with wide eyes, but didn't say anything. After a couple minutes, John and Arlo's arms were healed, so they began walking back towards their homes. They soon approached the dorms, and John nodded to them.

"Alright, I'll see you guys later."

"Wait, you don't live at the dorms?" Elaine asked.

"Nope. It's more peaceful at my place."

"Well he's interesting." Arlo thought to himself before smirking.

"See you tomorrow, Ace."

"Yeah yeah. See ya." John waved and walked off, leaving Arlo and Elaine there.

"You spent a lot of energy healing me. Get some rest, Elaine." Arlo said before walking off, leaving Elaine blushing as she returned to the dorms.

She entered her dorm and took off her shoes. She looked up to see Seraphina standing in her doorway.

"Hey Seraphina! How was your day?" Seraphina didn't respond immediately.

"Elaine, you're friends with John correct?" She spat his name out with venom.

"Uh...y-yes. I am." Seraphina looked at her and before Elaine could even blink, she was pinned against the wall.

"I want you to tell me what you know about him. Now."

John got home and sat down at his table, sighing. Today was certainly eventful. He pulled up his laptop to play a game, but before he could he received a call from Claire. He answered it quickly, and was greeted by a Claire with shorter hair.

"Hey John! I cut my hair. Do you like it?"

"Y-yeah! I do!" She smiled.

"How was your day?" John froze for a minute before sighing.

"Stressful. I had an encounter with the King and the Queen today."

"Please tell me you didn't hospitalize them..."

"No no! I didn't."

"But I wanted to." He envisioned Seraphina, as his eyes started to glow before he deactivated his ability.

"She's a jerk. Forcing students to do stuff for her because she's so powerful. She attacked me in the lunchroom over a piece of cake. So I fought back and won. She shouldn't be bothering me anytime soon, and hopefully that'll cool her head a little." Claire listened, as she learned that after John's "therapy" lessons, letting him talk was the best way to get his anger out.

"What happened with the King?" John seemed to calm down after she asked.

"We went out to get some drinks. Afterwards, he challenged me to a fight, and thankfully I won. He almost beat me." He sighed, and leaned back in his seat.

"Hey Claire, you should come visit Wellston sometime. I'll talk to my dad and he should be able to help you get over here."

"I'll check with my parents and see if it's okay." They both smiled, before John realized that he was supposed to call his dad. Pulling out his phone, he saw that he had about 13 missed texts and 4 missed calls.

"He's gonna kill me :,)"

"I totally forgot I have to call my dad! I'll call you tomorrow Claire!" They both said goodbye's and John quickly hung up, leaving Claire there giggling.

"I'm glad to see he's energetic as always."
