I opened my eyes and stared at the roof. There was the sound of a steady beep from a machine. I had a breathing mask on. I was breathing really slowly but it was normal.

I continued to stare at the roof. I can't believe I have panic disorder. I let my head drop to the left to see Mackenzie sitting on a chair. She had her earphones in and was doing something on her phone.

I wanted to sit up but I felt so weak. "Kenze" I whispered. I found it really difficult to speak. She didn't look up from her phone. I reached my arm slowly toward her, but she was to far from the bed.

I let my arm drop and it crashed against the side of the bed. Mackenzie looked up from her phone. I smiled at her and she smiled back. She pulled her earphones out and got up.

She came over to me whilst putting her phone in her pocket. "Hey Mads" she said softly grabbing a hold of my hand. "Hey" I said in a croaky voice. "You feeling ok?" she asked me placing my hand on the bed. I nodded my head slowly.

"I need to go tell the doctor your awake. Is it alright if I go?" she asked me. I nodded my head again. She bent down an kissed me on my forehead. She then walked out of the room.

I looked around for the remote for the bed. Luckily it was sitting next to my other hand. I grabbed hold of it and pushed the button to make the mattress go up so I could be sitting.

I sat the remote down on the bed again and waited for Mackenzie to return. I looked around the room to see a few more machines then last time. I sat and stared at the wall in front of me and listened to the steady beep of the heart monitor.

The doctor came in with a tray of food. Mackenzie followed behind her. The doctor placed the tray down on the desk next to my bed. She then pulled a chair up. Mackenzie sat on the end of the bed.

"How are you feeling Maddie?" the doctor asked. "Alright" I whispered. "That's good, would you like something to eat or drink?" I nodded my head eagerly. I was starving and desperately needed a drink.

She grabbed the wheelie table and placed it so the table was in front of me. She then grabbed the tray and placed it down. "Now Maddie, before you can eat you will need to take the mask off" she said.

I started to take the mask off slowly but she stopped me. "But before you do I need you to understand that I may have to put it back on you. I need you to understand that I am hear to help you so you can go home as soon as possible" she said in a calm manner.

I nodded my head and she took the mask off me and put it down on the bed next to me. I grabbed the glass of water and gulped it down. Oh, who knew water could taste so good.

I picked the sandwich up and started eating it. I don't really care what's in it. I am that hungry I would eat anything. I finished the sandwich and looked at the doctor.

"Is that better?" she asked me smiling. "Much better" I said smiling back to her. "Um, can I ask a question?" She looked at me and nodded her head. "What day is it?" I asked her hoping I wasn't out that long.

"It's early Monday morning" she replied. That'd better then last time. My mom then came in and gave me a smile. She came and gave me a hug. "I'm sorry Maddie but I have to go now with Kenze, but I'll be back later" she said.

Mackenzie got off the end of the bed and gave me a goodbye hug. They went out the room and I was left alone with the doctor. "Now Maddie, do you remember anything we told you last time?" she asked me.

"Yes I do" I replied. "How much do you remember?" "All of it" I said. She simply nodded her head. "Are you ok with it at the moment, because last time you had an attack. "Yeah, I guess. I mean its annoying that I have a stupid disorder but I'm not freaking out any more" I finished.

"That's a relief" the doctor said. "Can I go for walk? Just to stretch out my legs" I asked hopefully. "Alright, but I'm coming with you and you need to take the mask with you" she said sternly. "Deal" I said throwing the covers off me.

I then saw the bandage on my ankle and remembered it was injured. "Oh yeah, my ankle" I sighed. "Oh right, your ankle. Well Maddie you are probably fine to walk on it. We took an x-ray and it is only sprained" she explained.

"But won't it hurt to put weight on?" I asked anxiously. "Not necessarily. You haven't put weight on it for a week so it is probably ok" she said.

She got up and went to the heart monitor. She disconnected the chords from the machine and gave them to me to hold. She came back around and grabbed the mask.

I sat on the edge of the bed and brushed my toes on the hard ground. I slowly lowered myself onto the floor whilst the doctor held me. I stood and found my ankle felt fine. I smiled at the doctor and she smiled back at me.

We walked out of the room and down the hall slowly. My legs felt a little tingly at first but then that went away after walking for a minute. I saw the toilet an stopped in front of it.

"I really need to pee" I said turning around to face her. "Ok" she said pushing the door open. "I'm coming in with you" she said sternly. "But I don't need help to pee" I whined.

"You might have another attack though" she said not backing down. "How about I go in on my own but don't lock the door. You can hold it and if you hear me starting to have an attack you come in" I said hoping she would agree.

"Alright" she said reluctantly. I went into the cubicle and did my business. I walked out of the cubicle and washed my hands. "See, told you, you had nothing to worry about" I said as we walked out of the toilets.

"Yeah ok, don't rub it in" she said trying not to giggle. I stuck my tongue out at her and skipped ahead. My ankle didn't hurt at all. I got back to my room and jumped on my bed.

The doctor came in and plugged me back up to the heart monitor. "Lets have a look at your ankle shall we" she said starting I unwrap it. "Ok" I said in a cheery voice.

When it was fully unwrapped I could see it was slightly bruised but the swelling was all gone. She grabbed my foot and started flex it. "Does that hurt" she asked. I shook my head.

She continued to bend my foot carefully in different directions to check if it hurt. Luckily it didn't hurt at all. " Ok, can you stand on it to see if it hurts without the bandage" she said taking my hand.

I stood up and shifted my weight from one foot to the other. "it doesn't hurt at all" I said smiling at her. "Looks like it was just a minor sprain" she said.

I sat back down on the bed. "Now, if you feel like you start to have trouble breathing you must put the mask on ok" she told me. "Alright" I said. She went over to the corner and gave me my backpack.

"Apparently your sister packed somethings in here for you to keep you entertained" she said leaving the bag on bed as she walked out. I grabbed it and unzipped it to find my laptop and its charger.

I pulled it out and continued looking. There were 6 of my favourite DVD's in there as well. I also found 2 blocks of white chocolate, my favourite. There was also some Pringles.

I unzipped the front pocket and found my phone, earphones and my phone charger. There was a little note in there as well. I pulled it out and opened it.

To Maddie

I hope you are feeling better and that these will help. Please do as the doctors ask you because I want you to come home. It's so quiet at home without you. Dance also feels really weird. Anyway feel better soon.

Love Mackenzie

I smiled to myself, she knew exactly how to cheer me up. I opened my laptop and put a movie in. I ripped open the Pringles and ate them happily while watching my laptop screen.
